Claw Gracie, week V' JQYN Q, Qto 53 09 v-75 9th grade week: de week that ho- nors the mighty 9th graders. The spirit gave the class of '73 an ex- citing, extra good feeling. Monday, the auctioning of the slaves took place. Bidding started at a penny and maximum was one dol- lar. All proceeds went to class funds. Tuesday was Boys' slave day and trike races. The lucky girls who had spent their pennies for a slave knew that they had made a good deal. Where else could ya' get someone to carry your books and obey all your commands, at such a low price? Where, else but Nimitzl The trike races gathered quite a crowd together to watch all these big kids on those teenie-weenie little 3-wheelers. The winning homerooms were Miss Jones, fthe typing teacher-D, and Mr. Morgan, fthe hall-clearer?-. Let's give ' em three cheers for their racing ef- forts. Hip Hip Hurrayl Hip Hip Hur- rayl HIP HIP HURRAY! wednesday- The pie-eating con- test. That was something you could get your face into! Therevere straw- berry, coconut, andcream pies. CMes- sy, messyl, but yummy, yummylll The messy event took place out on the outdoor stage during both lunches. The winners were Clara Martinez and Jerry Goodheart. Thursday- Girls' Slave Day for the Male Chauvinist pigs! CNo of- fense guyslll This was the day when girls proved their strength--almost- equal to the guys'. But of course there was a little bit of Hoopsn and Naahsu during the day. Friday the 13th--A bad luck su- perstition. But the class colors' day didn't bring us bad lick. The spirit was shown on our bod's,.nQQ by our mouths' for a change. Ninth Grade Week--something that we'1l look back on and remember. Re- member, Yesterday Was, Today Is, and Tomorrow will Be. In the. 8th grade you knew what was happening, but the year just was not that much fun. Sure there were assemblies and activities and stuff like that, ht it just wasn't as eni- ting as 7th grade. You thought to younmlf: This year is never going to end. When the year finally did end, you were a 9th grader. There are so many things to re- member, so many things you have due.
