FOREIGN EXCHANGE STUDENTS From Finland Marko lauhiainen From Germany: Barbara Herrmann COMMENTS... Marko Jauhiainen: Being here is much different than in Finland. In the beginning it was difficult but I have already gotten used to it. I think this is an experience which real value is revealed not until I'm back home But the best in being here are all those marvelous people I have made friends with. Barbara Herrmann: I like being at this school very much. I like the students, the teachers and the easy way of life everybody has. Besides the food I like cruising through the town the most. But I also like the band and the games (football and basketball) a lot, since we don't have these things at home, back in Germany.

MUSIC FESTIVAL SENIOR HIGH Melissa Reiman, Karrie Buescher. lisa Wingerter, Rachel Tripp JUNIOR HIGH IMEA stands for Illinois Music Educators Association. This year, the festival was held in early November at SIU Carbon-dale. The choirs rehearse all day in preparation for a concert that night. In order to participate the school music director must send in students' names along with a rating of their choral performance. The district committee then selects people from each school.
