Scott Huch, Lyle Kipp. Randy Hartman. 27 When the Choraleers’ tryouts came along in March, no one dreamed they would turn into a swing choir. Twelve people were chosen and the work began. With no previous experience, they set out to create routines. They ended their first year successfully, having given performances at all three grade schools, the Chester Chamber of Commerce dinner, and the Spring Concert.

Notes on ... Vc This year the chorus helped the band sell cheese and sausage and fruit for fund-raisers. At Christmas, several of the members went caroling. In May, the members had the opportunity of seeing My Fair Lady” in St. Louis. They performed at the Christmas and Spring Awards Concerts. The Chorus is under the direction of Ms. Jane Tanner. In November all students auditioning for the choir had to attend the 1980 IMEA DISTRICT VI FESTIVAL in Carhondale. Of these three, Scott Huch advanced to the All-State Chorus at Chicago in January.
