 The most embarrassing thing that I can remember happened the first year I taught at Chester. My seventh hour class was decorating a Christmas tree. Since the room was small, we had to put the tree next to a tall narrow bookcase. As one of the boys started to get up from putting the skirt around the bottom of the tree, he grabbed the bookcase to pull himself up. The case turned over and all the books fell out on the head of another boy sitting on the floor next to the case. It made the most awful noise you can imagine and sent half the school up to see what had happened. I can never decorate a tree without seeing the look on that boy's face, as he sat there buried in books!'' Mrs. Ella VanMeter For one of my student teaching experiences in college, I had to teach a Sophomore gymnastics class for three weeks. Since this was the first class I had ever taught, and two of my professors were observing my teaching , I was concerned with doing my best. The first piece of apparatus that I was demonstrating was the vaulting horse.
