oyage fo fb aim As the gang plank lowers the flrst of the passengers steps aboard Myrl Grelman the captaln Paul Powley the flrst mate and Mllton Juenger and Roger Marclnkowska who deslgned and bullt the shlp are standing by the rall ready to welcome on board our Senlor passengers Boardlng the shlp flrst we see Betty Jane Duensln RuthKeeton Marlene Sey mour Judy Butler Betty Roth and Jane uer ens a group of college co eds enroute t Paris France Next comes Wyona Smlth and Dorothy Easterly of the publlshlng flrm of Smlth gl Easterly wlth thelr sales executlves Paullne Eggers and J D Clark Anthony Du chlnsky a rancher from the West complete with cowboy boots and ten gallon hat lS the next to come aboard followed by the sensatlonal new Jazz slnger wlllls Rhodes and hlS agent Dor1sRlchardson As Gus NOTtlH the Pllot comes forward to greet the rest of the passengers we go below deck to meet the crew JackTope Donald Hartenberger Herman Asselmeler Bob Spreltler and James Lauterjung are busy guldlng the passengers to thelr staterooms and preparlrlg to leave the pler Below deck everythlng lS modern clean beautl fully furnlshed and thlngs seem to be ln perfect order for the forthcomlng trlp Returnlng to the deck we hear the famlllar cry All ashore that s golng ashore and last farewells are Sald by friends who have come to WlSh bon voyage to the passengers By the time the shlp LS well out to sea lt LS nearly 6 00 p m and the passengers get thelr flrst srght of real beauty as the sun looklng llke a great ball of flre sets slowly ln the West Untll time for dlnner everyone strolls along the deck taklng ln the feellng of somethlng wonderfully new and excltlng After dlnner Marvln Cheek Llndy Flemlng Earl Runge and Danny James decide to ex plore the shlp sposslbllltles The flrst place they dlscover LS the Shlp sbar where they flnd thelr old buddles Kenny Clendenln and Blll COlllnS tendlng bar Whlle talklng to Kenny and Blll they learn that Wllbur Holmes lS the Shlp s purser and has Just returned Wlth hlS brlde the former Judy Jones The Mlghty Four leave the bar when they hear excitement on deck stlll form of Marlon Casten It seems that for the past hour Marlon has been busy belng sea SlCk and flnally from complete exhaustlon she has falnted Joanne Davls and Althea Dlllow come forward wlth a stretcher and Marlon lS retlred to her stateroom Notflndlng any m01'6 excltement here the Mlghty Four move on to the shlp s repllca ofa nlght club lla Mae Wll llamson Hglenl-lecht Cleo Gross and Marlo Carnahan are slttlng at a near by table llsten lng to the muslc of the Rhythrn Rascals and watchlng James Goggln and Paddy Scott rhumba As the rhumba ends TommyRodely the master of ceremonles comes to the mlcrophone and announces that the floor show will begln at 9 OO Backstage everythlng IS ln a state of confuslon The stage manager GllbertTopp and the electrlclan Lloyd Kohlman are trylng to flX the llght swltch that controls the maln llghts They have been worklng for almost an hour on them but nelther has been successful Jlmmy Howell the prop man who has been having troubles of hls own flnally comes over to ask what the trouble lS Wlth all three ofthem worklng hard the trouble LS soon flxed and the show lS almost ready to begln ThlS all happens before Marllyn Zang discovers she has lost her plano arrangements Marllyn plays the plano for the orchestra and for two or three lndlvldual numbers lf the muslc lsn t found there Just won t be any show Whlle the search goes on Bonnle Hlgglns Bonnle Thornton Dorls Turner and Mary Ann McAdams who have been practlclng tumbllng for thelr part ln the show go back to thelr dresslng room to make last mlnute preparatlons The glrls ln the danclng chorus Joyce Rogers Dot Sympson Darlene Krantz Elsle Knoke Mary Ann Rodewald Margle Knoke Darlene Montroy lead byMaxlne I-lapke are busy checking thelr costumes AnnRybolt Marl lynSchwe1zer Annette Clary and Mary Frances Brown better known as the Four Moon Malds are gOlI1gl1p the scale asa warm upbefore the show goes on Marcella Harrls who lS to slng Stormy Weather as only she can slng lt ls slttlng calmly talklng to Arlayne Smlth and Mary Holley who are ln charge of the costumes of the cast Someone brlngs the news that Marllyn s plano arrangements have been found and the show IS about to begln Nothlng ever comes easlly that lS worth whlle and although lt has taken twelve years of work to perfect our acts and to galn enough knowledge to produce a show we are flnally ready for the curtaln to go up and the openlng performance to begln 8 1 I .
