ACTIVITIES bring happiness C. H. S. BAND John Heuer President George Allison Vice-President Hilda Crunk Librarian Forrest Ayres With due respect to our former leader, Chester High School is proud to say that the band of '39 was one of true C. H. S. quality. With the new and necessary ideas of L. D. Samuel, the new bandmaster, the band has become the most active organization in the school. This group performed at all home events, as well as some away from home, displaying unique formations. The band played at various programs. New instrumental groups were organized for work in concerts and contests. The high points of the year s work were concerts given December 2 and March 17. Student Conductor L. D. Samuel Director Much of the band's progress would have been impossible but for the faithful Band Patrons' Club, which was started this year. All of these features worked in close harmony to form an enticing type of zeal. 30
