The class had two parties at the Coliseum in Fort Wayne. The class was sponsored by Mr. Gerold Faudree and Mr. Wayne Billing. The class elected as their officers the following: Jack Baker, President; Larry Jordan, Vice-President; Tom Schumaker, Sec- retary; Sue Richards, Treasurer, and Dorothy Lef- forge, Reporter. The following year thirty-nine ambitious pupils entered Chester High. The class elected the following as their leaders: Robin Miller, President; Carol Grossnickle, Vice-President; Sue Richards, Secretary; Larry Jor- dan, Treasurer, and Jane Schenkel, Reporter. In 1954, thirty-seven juniors entered school look- ing forward to the many extra activities that take place during the junior year. We welcomed Theresa Lee as a new junior from Somerset. During the year we eagerly took on the responsibility of putting on a fish fry and selling at the ball games. Mr. Rowe and Mrs. VanCamp sponsored the juniors. The class gave the play SEVENTEEN IS AWFULLY YOUNG which Mrs. Van Camp directed. The officers for that year were: Jack Baker, President; Leo Frieden, Vice- President; Carol Grossnickle, Secretary; Bob Hop- ner. Treasurer; and Dorothy Lefforge, Reporter. At last, in September of 1955, thirty-eight eager and ambitious seniors, including Rowena Carr from Rossville and Bill Kirkpatrick from Lagro, took the first step on their last lap of high school. The class of 1956 elected the following officers; Jack Baker, President; Larry Jordan, Vice-President; Dorothy Leiiorge, Secretary; Robin Miller, Treas- urer; Sue Richards, Reporter. We produced a great success. MAMA ' S BABY BOY . The Ravelings was started under the direction of two worthy ad- visors, Mrs. VanCamp and Mr. Smith. Our money- making projects included the fish fry and the maga- zine sales drive, in which we broke previous rec- ords. Baccalaureate, Commencement, and the long- awaited senior trip ended an eventful year. Phone 988 Compliments of MYERS IMPLEMENT SALES i SERVICE Ferguson System North Manchester Compliments of Dr. R. Last year ' s team won both the Manchester Relays and the County Track Meet. With nine returning lettermen we are anticipating a good track season again this year. It may be hard for Coach Pete Faudree to find someone to fill the shoes of John Clark and Todd Hathaway, who were two important factors in the success of last year ' s team. The 1956 schedule will provide plenty of competi- tion. In addition to the Manchester Relays and the county meet the Chester cindermen will face such ioes as South Whitley, Pierceton and Wabash. Publishing the Chester Chatter was one of the main jobs for ad- vanced typing students. 15 issues were distributed during the school year, approxima;e.ly a paper every two weeks. We would like to thank ' he many reporters who kept us well supplied with news, Mr. Brumbaugh, Mrs. Ainisb, and the staff members were responsible for making the Chatter successful. Senior 3?lay THE SENIOR PLAY IN BRIEF Imagine the great amount of fun that is experi- enced when an attractive widow, nearing forty, has her eighteen-year-old son dress and pose as a boy of fourteen so she might pass as a younger woman. In turn a widower, trymg to appear younger, has his seventeen-year-old daughter pose as a girl of twelve so that he might wed the widow, whom he believes to be rich. This situation leads to no end of amusing complications. The children decide to do something about these horrifying experiences. Yes, the whole family, friends and relatives, are nearly proved insane before all the problems are solved and their identities are known. Meanwhile Jerry ' s home life gets more and more complicated as he tries to follow Trudy ' s hilarious mental quick changes. His fantic maneuvers get the whole family into trouble, and things look pretty serious to Jerry. In despair Jerry resorts to a real last resort and the humorous and unexpected reversal brings this fast-paced comedy to a pleasant and satisfying conclusion.
