Phyllis Burkhart Reporter --- --- Sue Leonhardt Class History In September, 1951, thirty-eight confused fresh- men found their way to high school. The class had two parties under the sponsorship of Miss Bowen and Mr. Dilling. The class elected as their officers the following people: Todd Hathaway, president, Bill Leonhard, vice-president, Edythe Meyer, secre- tary, Sue Leonhardt, treasurer, and Phyllis Burkhart, reporter. A year later thirty-nine ambitious sophomores entered Chester. During the year we enjoyed two class' parties with Mrs. Lytle and Mr. Scribner as sponsors. The class chose as their officers the fol- lowing students: Noel Yordy, president, Darrel Graf- fis, vice-president, Catherine Gemmer, secretary, Todd Hathaway, treasurer, and Maurice Frieden, reporter. In 1953 thirty-two juniors entered school looking forward to a full year of numerous activities. Among these activities were our skating party, receiving our class rings, selling concessions at ballgames and the fish fry which proved to be a big success. In the spring the class worked together to put on our class play, Meet Corliss Archer. The class elected as their officers: Charles Zinsmeister, presi- dent, Iack Sleighter, vice-president, Norma Coning, secretary, Maurice Frieden, treasurer, and Sue Leonhardt, reporter. Our sponsors for that year were Mrs. Amiss and Mr. Mertz. At last in September of 1954, thirty faithful seniors trudged, tired but ready, to start an interesting year to end their high school career as the class of 1955. Being determined, new records were set. We pro- duced as a great success, The Adorable Imp, which was properly dressed by the stage curtains, a third of which was our share towards a gift for the school. Our officers were: Gary Iackson, president, Charles Zinsmeister, vice-president, Anita Bollinger, secretary, Phyllis Burkhart, treasurer, and Sue Leon- hardt, reporter. The Ravelings was started under the direction of two worthy advisors, Mrs. Amiss and Mr. Smith. The main money making projects of the year were magazine sales and the fish fry.
