enior Cjfazifi zjvhfifory On the 30th day of August in 1947 forty intel- ligent freshmen ventured into Chester High School and started off with a bang. The group elected the following officers: President, Iames Schumaker, Vice President, Max Richards, Treasurer, Anita Schroll, Secretary, Mary Lois Fleck. The class sponsors were: Mrs. Von Ehr, Mrs. Allen, and Mr. Dilling. That year a new student, Alvin Wiley, entered our class. After a summer vacation we went back to school as sophomores, there were thirty-seven in our class that year. The officers elected were: President, Harold Frieden, Vice President, William Helvey, Secretary, Iim Hammond, Treasurer, Herbert Underwood. Sponsors were: Mrs. Lytle and Mr. Scribner. We had two class parties to remember our year by. In 1949 thirty-three juniors enrolled and elected officers for the year: President, Herbert Underwood, Vice President, Esther Frey, Secretary, lane Booch- er, Treasurer, Anita Schroll. That year we sold re- freshments at the basketball games and had a cake walk at the South Whitley game to make money. On April l4th a three-act play entitled A Date With Iudy directed by Miss Eshelman was pre- sented. Class rings, a rained-out weiner roast, and our Iunior-Senior Reception at Warsaw added fun to our junior year. Our sponsors were: Miss Eshel- man and Mr. Metzger. On August 29, 1950, thirty seniors gathered in the assembly for our last enrollment. The officers for the year were: President, Morris Poer, Vice Pres- ident, Norman Chamberlain, Secretary, Lester Will- iams, Treasurer, Anita Schroll. Our sponsors were: Mrs. Vandegrift and Mr. Smith. We had a class play Professor How Could You and we also sold magazines for trip money and set a new record in the magazine sales. Our trip, Ravelings, Baccal- aureate and Commencement, highlighted an event- ful year. Compliments of J. W.
