Can't you tell how eager we are by our bright and shiny faces? With our loving teacher Mrs. Roe, we learned such advanced works of literature as, See jane Run, See How Fast jane Can Run. Spot and Puff Run, too. We had a good year and left Mrs. Roe with a memorable experience. We have now reached the second grade, and given Mrs. Pomares the pleasure of caring for us. We have also reached the level of half-hour rest periods, instead of the usual hour. Now in the third grade, we have learned ad- vanced methods of communication :FWF writing. We became somewhat domesticated and made potholders for our parents. lt was a fruitful year. In the fourth grade we learned to become a little more civilized under the loving direction of Mrs. Chamberlain. She has driven into us the thirst to learn more and meaningful facts of life. This year, in the fifth grade we had a big change over, our first man teacher. Mr. Gerow was a good teacher, and made all of us well acquainted with the back corner. fit seemed we all had an endless vocabulary, J We all learned to act like little ladies and gentlemen. At last we are in the sixth grade and seniors of the elementary, as M.r. Barth would say, and must set some sort of example for the others, He tried to prepare us so that, when we entered the seventh grade, we might not have to come back, -- thank goodness none of us did. Our only disappointment was that we could not beat the fifth grade in Dodge Ball. After six hard years we are finally in the seventh grade and were so fortunate to have Mr. Toufectis as our homeroom teacher. We all got along so well Unfortunately, Mr. Toufectis had to give up our homeroom and Miss Raab became our advisor. Being her first year as the girl's new Phys. Ed teacher, we left her with a lasting experience we're sure she won't forget. Most of us seemed to adjust well to changing classes and not having recess, when it was time to go into the eighth grade, we took it in our stride. Mr. Lynch was our advisor this year, and he tried to make Mathematicians out of all of us. This was a big year for us because, if we all made it, we would be on the stage for graduation ceremonies. What a fine bunch of students we were, sitting up on that stage with big smiles of success on our faces. The only thing that worried us was the four years ahead. After a restful summer we all came back with several additions from St. Columba's and other schools to be freshmen under the direction of Mr. Hoag. Daniel Burrows was our class president, and we made attemps at new things, -- we put on our first dance. lt proved to be quite an experience with all the diligent workers in our class. We were all anxious for the year to come to a close so that we could be sophomores, especially Mr. Hoag. As sophomores we were very fortunate to obtain a new member of the faculty as our advisor, for Mr. Tomcho took the job as attendance officer, for some reason or another, I wonder why? From En- gland Miss Fricker came to be out homeroom ad- visor. Tony Fichera was our president and, under his leadership, we put on our second dance. Those funds were really mounting up for our senior trip, everyone was thinking about it, for the time was coming closer and closer, Our junior year was quite an experience for all of us, and Mr. Manson, the new History teacher, gladly accepted us as his homeroom. Many new ex- periences fell upon us. Many were thinking about college, M.r. Dillenbeck broke us in early by letting us sell candy bars this year. And the big event of the junior year fell upon us, The junior Prom. The Hambletonian Ball, as it was called, was put on inspite of the little difficulties we had. Our only advice to future juniors, start planning about two years ahead of time. Ah, at last we're in our Senior year and Mr. Dillenbeck is helping to guide us into the future as our advisor. My, our class is working harder than ever to get to Washington, three months have gone by and we're still selling candy. fWould anyone like to buy a box? just see any member of the senior class. Q Play practice proves to be quite an episode for everyonel by the time we get through putting on this play, Mr. Hoag will really have a light head of hair. Mr. Dillenbeck is being quite patient with us, if it only lasts, we'll make it l'm sure. Five months left and then we'll all be embarking on separate roads into the future. All in all, we'll regret leaving C.H. S., for it has been our home for 13 years. We, the Senior class, would like to extend our thanks and best wishes to all those who have contributed in making us better students and citizens. We can only say that this was a time that we can consider one of the building blocks of ou.r lives and hope that the rest will be as prosperous. THE CLASS IN 1966: 1st ROW: T. Fichera, J.
