Dressing strangely, participating in hall and float decora- tions, and readying the bonfire kept the students busy dur- ing the week. The Homecoming parade was a success due to the humorous floats centering around the theme of pet food. The juniors took first place followed by the freshmen and seventh graders who tied for second place. The girls' basketball team faired well Friday night beating the Cascade Badgers 58-42. On Saturday the girls lost to a strong Choteau team 57-46. The football team won its first Homecoming game in three years by shutting out the Belt Huskies 34-0. Homecoming activities ended Saturday night with K. Diemert and L. Nahrgang being crowned King and Queen at the girls' basketball game. 12 Classes Juniors Derek Barrows Scef Christofferson Jan Cochran Vince Cole Jeff Dahlcn Dale Fox Travis Grammar Sherry Gunn Conrad Heimbigner Brenda Hemminger Breni Hilton Bonny Kohrman 16 17 — Sophomores Stephanie Anderson Brenda Bordelon Becky Brown Teresa Dahlen Mark Dauwalder Dean Denter CP Holly Diemen Marry Duffin Mary Fenger Kim Gunn Jennifer Harrison John Hemminger Elizabeth Hofer Lori Hofer 18 Craig Jensen Kal Ken field Brad Kimball Rob Kruithoff Wade Kultgen Shannon Madcr Justin Marble Kent Mattson Tracey Nordstrom Jeannean Schaefer Juanita Scidlitz Gordon Standi ford Jeremy Ward Chris Wickum 19 Freshmen Shan i Anderson Tara Broadhurst Lisa Burrows Jim Englund Shawna Fox Jennifer Fritz Kent Graham Andrea Green Holly Krook Jess Mangold Tawna Meldrum Haley Minnehan Gail Morkrid Rachel Nordstrom Hildee Rock man Julie Ruddick 20 21 Sarah Brown John Carlson Becky Chappell Sonya Claxton Tom Cahinden Jason Erickson Judd Fraser Brad Hall Christine Harwood Julie Hilton Wally Jeppesen Jennings Johnson i E i g h t h I G r a d e i Jerri Johannes Brad Kammerzell Mark Limesand Jay Marble Bryan Os wood Aaron Rocks Amy Streit Jason Tempel Steve Webb Celeste Wicks Nathan Wilson Coby Woods 22 Robert Pulst Hubbel Rockman Rory Seidlitz Ian Smith Jerry Spicher Lana Stevens Kim Stone Charlie Thielman Ryan Wickum Chub Woods 23 mors JUNIORS: Mary Ronshaugen, President; Vince Cole, Vice President; Sherry Gunn, Secretary-Treasurer. At the end of the season, Chester posted a 5-3 record, los- ing only one conference game and taking the District 6-B Co-Champion title. They were on the way to the second play-off game in 15 years. Chester traveled to Shelby where they lost a real thriller in overtime. The final score was 13-7 ending further advance- ment in the state play-offs. There were eight players who made All-Conference, four of which will be back next season. Two of the three All-State selections will be returning also. The Coyotes ended the season with pride, desire, and the hope to match or better their record next season. CAPTAINS: D. Snyder, A. Hanson, S. Frey. SENIORS, FRONT ROW: J. Iverson. D. Snyder. K. The team placed third at the District Tournament which advanced them to the Divisional Tournament in Shelby the following weekend. At the Divisional Tournament the young Coyote team fared well with their competition, but came up short, losing their first two games in the tournament. The Chester Coyotes finished their regular season with a 2-10 record in conference play and 6-18 in overall play, including the tournament action. Frey first triple jump, long jump, and high jump; fourth 400; J. Johannes third shot put; Ken Wooley second in the 800; K. Limesand third in the 800; B. Kimball second in the high jump, fifth in the high hurdles; B. Brown was the only girl to place in the meet. She placed second in the 800. At the Divisional meet, the Coyotes placed sixth behind the efforts of S. Frey, Ken Wooley, and B. Kimball. These three went on to compete in the State meet. B. Brown placed fourth in the 800 and also went on to compete in the State meet. S. Frey was the only trackster to place at state. He made the finals in the long, triple, and high jump. He took the fourth place ribbon in the long jump, and just missed in the other two. Ken Wooley, B. Kimball, and B. Brown gave it their best shot but fell short. Shane takes first in the long jump. Snowball ’86 We'd know chat grin anywhere, Shane.” He’s a Soulman.” 75 The Skeleton Walks On November 18, 1986, the CHS students presented a mystery play under the direction of Ms. Weir. This play was the first of two held during the 86-87 school year. The three-act play centered around Dr. Fersig, an ex-con, whose manipulations to acquire an old estate failed. A slave’s work is never done! Come on out. I'll get ya! Karla, showing off her fine points! Did you forget something, Holly? 76 'There's something queer about this business. Will you take me?” Tired, Margie? Go ahead, make my day! Don't worry she isn't dead . . . yet.” Say what? The Jury Room The second of two plays was presented on April 23, 1987. The play. The Jury Room, featured a lovely young actress played by T. Meldrum, who saved the accused’s life; a foreman, T. Grammar, who wanted justice to prevail; a juror, J. Heimdahl, who used some strategy to solve the mystery; and another juror, B. Hilton, who in the end was found to be the murderer. The play was filled with plenty of physical action as the events that led up to the murder were portrayed on the stage. You've got to be kidding. Can we go home now? Well, you don't say! ii Let me at him! There's no business like show business. 78 What's everybody looking at? Gee, I didn't know you felt this way! I need a drink”! Hey, watch your hand! Earth to Bonny. Spend This Night With You ’87 A large turnout of couples danced under silver, pink, and black streamers to the music of “Datura” at the Jr.-Sr. Prom on April 4. After the Grand March, K. Diemert and L. Kultgen were crowned King and Queen. They then shared a dance to the theme song “Spend My Life With You.” Pictures were taken by Helmbrecht.
