Monday through Friday, students came to school in their pajamas, sweats, inside out, dressup, and on Friday blue and gold. Thursday evening a talent show was held. Parents, teachers, and students participated in the fun-filled program. First place was awarded to the high school boys doing a mock-up of Stampede Wrestlers; second, to the high school girls called the Doobettes; third to the awesome band called Mega Force. After the talent show, the Homecoming King, J. Fritz, and Queen, M. Minnehan, were crowned. The Queen candidates were C. Cramer, K. Christofferson, M. Minnehan, and Ronda Meech. The King candidates were J. Fritz, T. Kohrman, S. Kimball, and K. Cicon. The crownbearers for the ceremony were C. Fritz and B. Dafoe. Friday, the girls’ basketball team played Malta and were defeated 60-36 after giving the Mustangs a run for their money in the first half of the game. Later the students and fans went to the bonfire where the cheerleaders led spirit yells and the senior football players gave short speeches. Saturday morning, the residents enjoyed the clever and humorous floats. First place went to the seventh grade, second to the freshmen, third to the juniors. In the afternoon fans turned out to watch the football team play the Townsend Bulldogs, the Coyotes lost 12-0. Seventh grade places first. “Buddies' Juniors place third. Coyotes’ Season 15-6 The Chester Coyote basketball team finished the 1984-85 conference season with an 11-3 record and a 15- 6 overall record. Conference losses included two close games to the State B Champion, Malta Mustangs, and another to a strong Shelby team. After losing their first game of the season, non-conference, to the Cascade Badgers, the Coyotes won their next nine out of twelve games. This included two victories over the State B runner up, Browning Indians. Seeded second, the Coyotes went against a fast- improving Cut Bank team in their first 5-B tournament game. The Wolves surprised the Coyotes with a 64-61 upset. Chester then had to play Shelby, and avenged their first loss by defeating Shelby in overtime 75-69. They were then forced to play Malta who took an early lead and never looked back as they defeated the Coyotes 67-52. Under the leadership of Coach McLean, much im- provement was shown throughout the season. VARSITY CHEERLEADERS: P. Demarest, Emily Wodarz, M. Standiford. Scores CHS OPP. Cascade 76 78 Ft.
