Bill Schlepp, by shutting out the favored Shelby squad 28-0. Being outweighed in every game, the Coyotes still had a successful season losing only two of eight games and winding up undefeated on the raod. Some of the brighter spots of the season were the overtime victory 16-3 over the division champion Simms Tigers, and the romping of the Harlem Wildcats 53-6. A major part of the offensive and defensive line will be returning as seniors next year which should make for another impressive season. Working for the Weekend The Coyotes, under first-year coach Mike McLean, finished conference play in fourth place with a 6-6 record. In their first tournament game the Coyotes defeated Valier 50-46. Their next game was against Harlem and the Coyotes were defeated 69-35. This pul them into a Satur- day morning game against Fairfield. The Coyotes played a tough game and defeated Fairfield by the score of 61-48. They played Valier again in the consolation game and won. 55-47, putting them in a Monday night challenge game against Simms. They defeated the Tigers 47-46. This left one play off game between the Coyotes and the state tour- nament, but it was not to be as the Malta Mustangs ended the Coyotes' season with a 75-54 loss. Next year Chester will be playing in a different conference and will be playing in two tournaments, district and divisionals, in order to go to state. CHEERLEADERS: K. Minnehan, J. Broadhurst, D.
