The Coyotes lost to Big Sandy the first night, but came back the next night to defeat Harlem. The first weekend of conference play saw Chester losing a double overtime game to Big Sandy on the Pioneers' home floor. The Coyotes then went on to win seven of their next eight games, before finishing 11-5 in conference play. Chester was seeded third going into the Divisional Tournament in Fairfield behind Simms and Fairfield, but lost two close games to be eliminated from the tournament Saturday morning. In the first game, Chester and Valier changed leads several times, but the Coyotes came up short 39-36. The next day the girls rebounded to take an easy 47-31 win over Har- lem to advance to the Saturday morning session. Again, the Coyotes fought a hard battle with Big Sandy before losing a heartbreaker in the final sec- onds 41-39. Individual highlights included four Coy- otes named to the All-Conference teams. C. Harmon, S. Osterman, and T. VanDessel made the second team, and ). Harden was given honorable mention honors. CHEERLEADERS: S.
