Five CHS Girls Receive Honors The following CHS girls received honors during the 1979 season: P. Toy, First Team All Conference, First Team All State Tournament, J. Wolfe, First Team All Conference, First Team All State Tourna- ment, S. Osterman, Honorable Mention All Conference, Second Team All State Tournament, C. Harmon. Coyotes Seize Second in State To top off the ninth season of girls' basketball the team won both the Conference and Divi- sional titles for the first time and placed sec- ond in State. In the game for the State' Champi- onship, in Billings, the Coyotes faced the Three Forks Wolves. Chester came out deter- mined to show that they were 1. but Three Forks with a strong fourth quarter defeated the Coyotes 57-52. The girls, in order to play the Wolves, defeated Big Timber and Plentywood by the scores 50-35 and 58-41 respectively. Coming into the Divisional Tourney, at Fair- field, as conference champs, the Coyotes defeated Valier and Sunburst to earn the right to play Simms in tin championship game. Simms kept the game close but Chester domi- nated the second half and went on to win 48- 36. In season play the girls opened with ten straight wins before being defeated by Big Sandy. Then once again the Coyotes went on a winning streak placing three trophies in the trophy case, a Conference, first place Divi- sional, and a second place in State. CO-CAPTAINS: J. Wolfe. P. Toy. 14
