At the same time I was running down the court. I was also rolling around on the mat. I was inexperienced in this sport, yet managed to take eight places at the Divi- sionals held in Fairfield. At State, in Hamilton. I won two matches. I gained experience and hope to do better next year. After wrestling I took a little break, then started training for what turned out to be a very wet track season. I have quite a bit of natural talent in this sport and it went really well. I travelled to Billings early in March to take part in the State FHA Convention. I learned a lot about being a future homemaker and gained a few friends. Earlier I had travelled to Glendive to compete in the State Speech and Drama Meet. Toward the end of the year. I travelled to Shelby for the District Music Festival. Five groups secured superior rat- ings. which qualified them for the State Music Festival in Missoula. April 20-21. My 1978-1979 school year was an overall success and I would like to thank all of my coaches, teachers, and fel- low Coyotes who supported me through the year. THANK YOU ALL! 4

FACULTY ADVERTISING 91-m Student Directory 112 MEMO: STUDENTS OF CHS DATE: 1978-1979 SUBJECT: YEAR OF THE COYOTE FROM: WILLIE Many of you may not know me, but I am a Coyote just like you. and the mascot for CHS. As you look and read through this book you will see me in several different forms and appearances. I am a master in disguise and I can do just about anything that is imaginable. To show you what I can do, here is a brief summary of my 1978-1979 school year. On August 20.1 began practice as a football player for the Chester Coyotes. I worked my way through a rough and tough season. A 4- 3 season record proved discouraging to me. About the same time that I started football practice I also started girls basketball practice. I had a successful season under the direc- tion of Coach Broesder, but did not reach my goal, STATE! I was defeated in the Divisional Tournament after a 12-4 season. As winter set in, I stayed inside and began to work at boys’ basketball. I started poorly, losing three games. Many people thought that it was going to be a bad season, but I showed them what I was made of and came back to win 12 straight games and entered the Divisional Tournament tied with Fairfield for the conference lead. I fought hard but came out of the tournament with second place, after a disappointing loss to the Eagles. I had made my goal of State, but did it the hard way. I went down to defeat in the first game against the Three Forks Wolves, but again showed my stamina and came back to win four straight, finishing third. 3
