Blue and Gold Times Staff The journalism class changed the name of the school paper from THE COYOTE to THE BLUE AND GOLD TIMES. After the fundamentals of journalism were learned, six issues were published. Annual work made up the bulk of class time. Hoping to successfully depict the 1976-77 school year, the annual staff used the theme Communications. BLUE AND GOLD TIMES Member of M. I. E. A. Semester test exemption, a topic debated upon for years, was success- fully brought into school board policy through many hours of negotiations with the students, teachers, adminis- tration, and finally the school board. On November 1-3, D. Osterman, C. Hanson, R. Violett, J. Ludwig, and K. Campbell traveled to Great Falls to the State Convention where D. Oster- man and R. Violett were later locked in the Curiosity Shop in Holiday Vil- lage. The first District II meeting was held on December 8 in Fairfield. D. Lakey, P. Glee, D. Ostermah, R. Violett, and H. Wolfe presented a workshop on Surviving the Red Tape. Mr. C was honored at a plan- ned assembly by the Student Council on January 25 with many speeches and a bronzed statue. A Career Day for Chester and Hi-Line juniors and seniors was held on March 17. The idea for an extra guidance room failed as the school board deemed it infeasible. The biggest and most successful carni- val ever took place on April 2. Trav- eling to Fort Benton for the second Dis- trict II meeting on April 18 were H. Wolfe, J. Wolfe, C. Hanson, P. Glee, R. Violett, J. Ludwig, and D. Oster- man. District officers were elected. The pep band partici- pated at most of the sports activities. On April 15-16 the music students traveled to Chinook for the District Music Festival where the band, choir, and several oth- ers received I ratings. The Women's Ensemble, H. Wolfe's saxaphone solo, and the choir were honored to perform at the Saturday night concert. Men's Ensem- ble, Women's Ensemble, L. Laas' solo, and H. and J.
