Class Prophecy We, as students of the class of '62 Have been assigned to tell to you What things we see - as is your due In that year - ten from now - 1972 The scene is Chester - to the school We're all on time - that's the rule With false details we'll not try to fool There’s a new building - man it's cool And this is the day for its dedication Or perhaps I should say its consecration At any rate there's jubilation For a new route to graduation Since Edna and I have been long away We’ve eagerly waited for this day To come back to see where we once did play And study before starting on our way. But things around here are not the same The superintendent Marvin Sunderland - by name Still drives that disreputable Mercury - only a Frame But just as if it had rocket Flame Poor Myrna she just couldn’t let go She trained at Bozeman for teaching you know, But what did she do when from there she did go Why right back to Chester to teach in grade Four. Carroll College claimed Judy for a while She’s a first grade teacher - she wears a smile To hide her broken heart, poor child She never got to go down that well known aisle. Now who is that man of savoir faire The one with elegant manners and air With a sartorial splendor and early gray hair? Just has to be Dick Violett, mayor of Lothair. I just saw the flash from a press photog; This is an event for the papers to log Everyone here about one bit of news is agog Bob Hutchinson now is the Times wheel not a cog I think that attractive woman by the door Must be Carolyn Lehman - looks no older than before Her Chicago social welfare work has furnished much lore That has really brought her fame to the fore. Gerald Dolezal and Howard Cicon, what a pair Are scientists at Canaveral, but let’s be fair, Howard volunteered to ride Gerry’s rocket through the air And Howard, poor Howard, is still AWAY OUT THERE.

Thirty-four cocky seniors met at Chester High School in the fall of '61. Larry Shaw was gone, but Pete Ward had come to take his place, bringing his friendly smile and moral support, too. David Peppenger took the wheel that final year with Peggy Mc- Dowell as his vice-president and Ginger Schultz in charge of records. Student Council representatives were Ted Ward and Myrna Shepherd. Ted Ward was Student Council president. Their senior sponsor was Mr. Kluksdahl. Freshmen were given a rousing initiation part, with delicious sandwiches and active grape juice. A day was spent in Havre taking senior pictures and selling an- nual ads. Carryl Waid and Linda Wevley came in the spring, making the graduation class total thirty-six. We were Young that Year was their final dramatic attempt, starring Larry Leigh- ton and Carolyn Goodbar. They followed suit of the Seniors before and sneaked out for a brief stay at Lake Blaine Resort. Seniors were honored guests at the Junior-Senior banquet and prom. The theme was Moon River and music was by the Bison Bluenotes. Baccalaureate was on May 20th and graduation three days after. Gerald Dolezal was Valedictorian with co-Sal- utatorians being Karen Schroer and Carolyn Lehman. The class flower was the Aster, and class colors were turquoise and silver. Those '62 Seniors left with the motto The road called Toil leads to the city called Success. ”

But don't give up hope; we may see him yet. Larry Leighton to this problem his mind has set Until Howie's return, THAT DATE can't be set, So we'll soon see Howie, on that you can bet. General Mills has a new Betty Crocker this year It's Peggy McDowell, and we continue to hear She gets proposals of marriage from far and near. Of her business out there she's making a go. Jane Schwartz and Verna Albright still in Chester reside And at many social functions they often preside When down the street they walk with pride It's for their youngsters at their side. Now Sharon Wickens a doctor became And married another of no little fame From New York City for this affair they came Accompanied by Nurse Susan, still Haugen, by name. I'm sure on arriving you observed a big jet At the local airport which has grown - you bet Pete Ward who pilots for TWA was let To borrow the plane to this event to get. That's Betty Burgess with the alert look A Journalism Award of the Year she just took And besides that she has recently authored a book ONE HUNDRED SHORT CUTS ON HOW TO COOK Another flying enthusiast, this one female Flew her own plane without engine fail To be able to be here and old friends to hale Audrey Odegard is with I. Karen Schaefer gained experience in local style shows And decided she liked modeling and so she chose To go to the city and to wear and show pretty clothes Now from her school many trained models go. In Washington, D. C., two Chester High School alumni Visit as they have opportunity in passing by Rodney Eveland employed on something too secret for public eye Ana Loretta Fritz an accountant for some COMMISSION high.
