Class Will Coat. I. CURTISS SLOAN, do hereby bequeath my inability to sleep in class to those lucky stiffs who always get away with it. 1, WILLIAM STEVEN, do hereby bequeath my broad shoulders to Kenny Romain. I, RICHARD SUTTON, do hereby bequeath my extra cowlicks and waves to Gregg Murray. I, SHERRILL WARD, do hereby bequeath my ability to go to basketball games and track meets whenever I want to, to anyone who likes to stay after school. In witness thereof we have to this, our last will and testament, affixed our fingerprints, and flourish- ing signature. As private legal secretaries for the firm of Berg and Odegard, Inc., we do have access to all the files on cases that our employers have handled for the past four years. Also, we do quite a bit of traveling with them, so we get first-hand information. One of our first cases dealt with the fixing of the Hotel Hilton-Fritzgerald’s income tax statement. This hotel was managed by our ex-classmate, BONNIE FRITZ. Another ex-classmate, GARY JENSEN, was the Certified Public Accountant who purposefully fixed the statement. It seems that Bonnie, who was the 1961 Biggest Flirt had entranced him with her flirtatious ways. (Plus a little money, of course.) He did a little crooked bookkeeping, but Hilton was suspicious and sent Berg and Odegard after him. I must say they did a good job, too. Bonnie and Gary are now serving a minimum penalty of three years in the New Mexico State Prison in Albuquerque. Our next major case took us back to our childhood environment. The ever-beautiful Rocky Moun- tains. where BOB COLLIVER was having a range war with FRANK SUTTON. Bob had a big cattle spread and Frank was coming up in the world as a sheepherder. Bob brought a law suit against Frank complain- ing that Frank's sheep were ruining his cattle's grass. Therefore, in 1967, we were called to settle this dispute. It turned out that we didn't have to settle it, as a big snowstorm killed all of Frank's sheep before we even got there. He decided to go into another line of business rather than buy more-sheep just so Bob could fight with him. In case you don t remember the movie, OCEAN'S 11, that we saw as seniors, this next episode we're going to relate may refresh your memory. RONNIE GREER, ROBERT LALUM, DENNIS PEPPENGER. CUR- TISS SLOAN, and MIKE CAMERON, all past service buddies, decided to get rich quick. Five gambling casinos were their targets. They managed to work a power failure in town, discombooberate the emergency generators and get into the safes. They did such a good job in making it dark that they got caught when they couldn’t find their way out. But when their satchels were opened, it was discovered that they had mistakenly taken rolls of confetti instead of money. Because of this, they were given a suspended sentence. And speaking of movies, we have come to the conclusion that they are a bad influence on graduating seniors who are about to decide their life's work. One poor example of this is WILLIAM MICHAEL STE- VEN, M. D. When he was indicted for a mercy killing, he pleaded guilty. He admitted that ever since he had seen the movie, THE BRAMBLE BUSH. he had had the urge to do a mercy killing. The jury acquitted him on the grounds of insanity. The other doctor in our class, MERLIN SCHAEFER, seems very prominent. We haven't a file on him, but we do read of his scientific medical achievements in the newspapers. He has become a famous brain surgeon. His right hand nurses' aide is SHERRILL WARD, who started out to be a hair stylist. She couldn't get hair to curl, so she started working for Merlin, shaving the hair off his patient's heads. The Senior Class of 1961

Lila heard from ANDREA MATTSON not too long ago. Andi's still in college studying a general course trying to make up her mind what she wants to do. Frankly, Lila thinks that she's disappointed because no one has taken her phone number and called yet. In fact, she thought it might be unlucky, so she had it changed. Remember those inseparable Sweet Grass Hills kids - CLARENCE MORRISON and B. J. OSWOOD? They both started ranching in their beloved hills. It seems that they, too, had an argument and one night B. J. stealthily went over to Clem’s spread and, like the Pied Piper of Hamlin, enticed some of the CM spread's cattle over to his own place, where he rebranded them. Of course, he got caught and was convicted of rustling. Russia sent a rocket with a man in it to the moon, but we were the first nation to land a man on it to stay. There was some sort of mix-up and a lot of unfavorable publicity, but the fact remains that KENNETH CHRISTENOT, USAF, is now residing on the moon. The mad chemist, WAYNE EVELAND, offered Kenny a drink one night, but mistakenly gave him rocket fuel. Need I go further? Kenny started to light a cigarette and he just ignited and flew off to the moon. It was an accident, but he sure is famous now. Actually, he's pretty well off. Every once in a while we receive repons from MARIENE LALUM or MARGARET RUNNION who work for the airlines. Mariene is a Control Tower Operator and really gets the low-down on Kenny. Margaret reports that ever so often she can see the man-in-the-moon winking at her, so we KNOW that it's Ken. ROBERT NORDSTROM and EDDIE GREEN are still a famous duo. Bob is coaching at the Montana State University. Since Eddie discovered his miracle serum, he has been using it on Bob's boys, and they haven't even come close to losing a game. Ed won't tell what the serum is, but it must be good. CAROLYN BARRETT. DARLENE LAAS, PATRICIA BRESNAHAN, and JANICE ROCKMAN are together as a team. Carolyn and Darlene are art professors at MSU. Patty is still taking the course in elementary teaching. She's afraid to go out and face the little ones, so she's majoring in courage this quarter. Like Andrea, Janny is still going to school trying to decide what to do or be. These four girls, to keep up their health, do exercises in the form of cheerleading for Bob's team. One case concerning an ex-classmate was that of BEVERLY ANDERSON, lady spy. She worked in connection with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. They sent her abroad to pretend she was spying for Russia, when actually, she was spying for the U.S. The Russians really fell for her line. In fact, she was so convincing that when she came to the U.S. for Christmas vacation our Security Service ar- rested her. We had quite a time convincing the court that she really belonged to us. Luckily, Berg and Odegard did their fast talking and thoroughly confused the judge and Bev was freed. RITA BUSHEE wrote the other day, inquiring about a class reunion. She hasn’t been around the rest of us much, and she's pretty anxious to see what 10 years has done to her old classmates. She's still in Chester. From what she said in her letter she hasn’t changed much. One thing is different, though. Instead of working for the Hi-Line Cleaners, she has her own little cleaning establishment, called Rita's Right-Way Cleaners. Right now we're going to stop and discuss this idea of a class reunion with our bosses, GEORGE BERG and TERANCE ODEGARD, and see what we can promote. You'll be hearing from us soon. Sincerely yours. The two best secretaries in the business. Aline Eveland Lila Loy Ish
