Class Mistory We started our Freshman year with 35 students. Officers we elected were: Carolyn Barrett, President; Bob Nordstrom, Vice President; Sharon Ward, Sec- retary; and Mr. Louis Schroer, Advisor. As we were new, we needed to earn money. This was done by selling candy and pop at football and basketball games. As we started our Sophomore year, we found that we had added 9 members to the class, these being Jeri Alex, Mark Evans, Verna Gilge, Odean Groff, Jerry Sandman, Richard Sutton, June Stimson, Barbie Whitney, and Merlin Schaefer (who had gone to school with us for 8 years previously). But we had also lost Gordon Wendt, Allen Flaten, Sally Brown, Andrea Bubnash, and Birgit Burkhard. After being with us only for a short time June Stimson left that same year. Eddie Green presided over our class meetings this year, with help from his Vice President, Darlene Laas; Secretary, Pat Seidlitz; and Advisor, Mr. Owen Kluksdahl. Rita Bushee, Mike Cameron, Dennis Peppenger, Curtiss Sloan, and Caro- line Ward joined our Junior Class and Sandra Albright, Jeri Alex, Mark Evans, Sylvia Freeland Heikkila, Verna Gilge, Odean Groff, Judy O’Brien, Jerry Sandman, June Stimson, Caroline Ward, Barbie Whitney, and Darla Yarbo- rough left. Election of officers was held early in the year. Gary Jensen was chosen to be President; Pat Bresnahan, Vice President; Sylvia Freeland Heikkila, Sec- retary; who was later replaced by Bonnie Fritz. Mrs. Norada Paxton was our sponsor. Later in the year we chose the design Starfire for our class rings. We made our acting debuts by giving the play The Little Minister. Robert Nordstrom played the part of the minister. Highlighting our Junior year was the Junior-Senior prom and banquet. The theme was Harbor Lights, and the Happy Four provided music for the oc- casion. Delegates were chosen for Boys' State and Girls' State. They were Ed Green, Gary Jensen and Carolyn Barrett. Alternates were Robert Nordstrom and Patty Bresnahan. Beginning our Senior year, we gained Bob Colliver and Janice Rockman, but we lost Sharon Ward Seidlitz, Pat Seidlitz Bruce, and Joel Fenger. We had 14 members of our class in chorus and 18 members in band. Kenny Christenot acted as President; Janice Rockman as Vice President and Lila Ish as Secretary. Our representatives to the Student Council were George Berg and Aline Eveland. Mr. Owen Kluksdahl was our sponsor. Paint the Town Pink was our senior production which we performed on March 10, 1961. Lake Blaine Resort or Bust was the slogan written on some of the cars which sneaked out of town on May 13, as 24 seniors left on their sneak trip. After boating, roller skating, dancing, sleeping, swimming, hik- ing, eating and so forth, we returned home May 15. Baccalaureate was held on May 21, 1961, with Reverend Jim Patton, Whit- lash, as the speaker. Graduation climaxed our high school career on May 25. We had 31 graduating seniors. Valedictorian was Pat Bresnahan and Saluta- torian was Carolyn Barrett. Speaker was William Lissenby of Northern Montana College. After the exercises, the seniors celebrated by having an all-night dance.
