ACT n TIME: Monday morning, 9:00 PLACE: Chester High School SCENE: Desks in straight rows, floors shining and blackboards ready for that first lesson. This is the scene of our school every week. Who is this, that does this hard task of making the school ready for the next week? Who is it that has the school ready every September for its occupants and who keeps it in this fine condition through nine months of wear and tear every year? Who keeps the hedges trimmed, the grass cut and watered? Who shovels the snow on the cold winter mornings? The answer to these questions?? Every student from the greenest freshman to the mightiest Senior knows the answer to all these questions. Mr. Jensen, known to all of us as Walt, is the one who deserves the credit for keeping old C. H. S. in such condition. Walt has seen twenty-three senior classes graduate from Chester Schools. For the fine work he has done during these past twenty-three years, we the senior class do ded- icate this annual to our custodian and friend, Mr. Walter Jensen. Sports, business Classes. During this, our first act, we presented ourselves as the typical green freshmen. On initiation day we were welcomed by the eager and friendly Seniors of 1955, our characters ranged from bathing beau- ties, hula dancers, to bums. In the starring roles were president - Wally Luchetti, vice-president - Robert Mann, and secretary-treasurer - Delanor Zorn. Miss Helen Ogden was our director during our first appearance. Our amateur cast had gained these distinguished names, Lemoin Werner and Francis Thomas. Leaving the show were Areal Rives, Roger Walker, Fred Campbell, Frank Nations, Lavonne Ott, Joyce Gavin, Bobby Jack Wilson, Eri Buno, Russell Sanderson, Margaret Ward, Francis Thomas, and Virginia Yorborough. In our sophomore year we were fast becoming acquainted with the wings of C. H. S. Although things were looking up, we were looking forward to our 3rd and 4th acts. During this run the spotlights were cast on Roger Wolfe - president, Gary Shepherd - vice-president, and Terry Swank - secretary-treasurer. Mr. Earl Haugen was our manager. New faces found on stage were James Gautier, Blake McDowell, Del- bert Boyer, James Wigmore, Cathy Axman, Donna Poil, Wreatha McIntosh, Darlene Fuhs, and Eri Buno. Making their exit were Donna Poil, Wreatha McIntosh, Darlene Fuhs, Cathy Axman, Eri Buno, Robert Mann, Wally Luchetti, James Gautier, Don Henry, and Carol New. Our third act was a huge success, as by this date we had all acquired a considerable amount of ham. Outstanding cast members were president - Terry Swank, vice-president - James Wigmore, and secretary- treasurer - Roger Wolfe. Dramatic coach was Mrs. Joe Brannon. Ellen Striegel joined our Actors Guild at this time. Box office specials were the play Two Dates For Tonight, class rings, and we sponsored the Junior-Senior Banquet and Prom with the theme Paradise of the Deep. In our fourth and final curtain call, we the Seniors of 1958 made our most spectacular performance. Idols of this season were president - Gary Shepherd, vice-president - Jerry Albright, and secretary- treasurer - James Wigmore. Mr. Glenn Pearson acted as producer. Helping to make our stage career such a smash hit were Bruce Walter and Don Henry who joined us in the fall of 1957. The major attrac- tions during this run were the repeat performance of initiation, our three one act plays the Tantrum, I’m A Fool, and Submerged. We also made the annual trip to Hawe for senior pictures. We were honored celebrities at the Jr.-Sr. Banquet and Prom with the theme Sayonora. Before closing the show we made a personal tour of Montana, otherwise known as Sneak Day. Finished, Yet Just Begun was chosen for our class motto, class colors are helio and white, and the class flower is the Iris. As we made our exit from the spotlights of C. H. S. we partook in the Baccalaureate ceremony. On graduation night we bid our farewells to our audience. These four showings are simply a premier of things to come from the Senior Class of 1958. This week The Latest Chit Chat Column shall be devoted to the graduates of 1958 of Chester High School who all seem to be quite prominent in the social as well as the news world. The one who seems to be rating the biggest splash at present is DELBERT BOYER who has started a school in the deep, dark jungles of the Belgian Congo where he is teaching the natives his bongo methods known as Beat the Bongoes with Boyer. LYLE EVELAND, the lazy Einstein, has finally become ambitious enough to develop an ingenious device for taking the chuck holes out of streets, those of Chester are included, naturally. NANCY IVERSON and CLETUS ZORN, still the inseparable twosome, are making their debuts in the play Siamese Twins. “ JOHN ENGLUND, the country millionaire, has just purchased the King Ranch in Texas. When asked why he didn't but some land on the moon, he replied What's the moon got that Texas hasn't?” RONNIE SUNDERLAND, the one time Elvis imitator, has worked up a routine known to him as real cool which has just won him the Bop King Title of the World. SHARON WRIGHT going by the name of Positively Painless Pete, has just developed a painless method of extracting teeth. DON HENRY unable to find a mate in the U. S. to suit his taste has moved to Arabia where he has a small harem of 300 girls which are to this day not paid for. BUZZ ZORN is playing for the Harlem Globe Trotters. Incidentally he is the only white man to partici- pate on any all Negro team. BLAKE McDOWELL is the owner of Blakes Snakey side shows in which the main attraction is, of course, Blake who performs dangerous feats with his horse Blondie which is named after his wife. ELLEN STRIEGEL is now employed as secretary of the Lonely Hearts Club. She has more names and ad- dresses than any other woman in the world, yet she still remains single. She's seen so many of these af- fairs go wrong that she lost her taste for romance. LOIS LAMBOTT has just received her R. N. degree and was fortunate enough to obtain a position nursing Elizabeth Taylor’s children. DENNIS STORES is chief mattress tester at the Winken Blinken and Nod Mattress Co. Imagine getting to sleep on the job - Looks like he's still up to his old tricks! JERRY ALBRIGHT is now barber to the bald actors and actresses in Hollywood. His best patron being none other than Yul Bryner. The first woman to conquer outer space is WILLAGENE BERG. She's a real smarty, fed them Bergs Belch- less Beer. Title of coach of the year was presented to LEFTY W1GMORE for the brilliant maneuvers used by his team from Sing Sing College. El Tauna, otherwise known as BEV WRIGHT, just finished her performances at the Cow Palace where she did the dance of the Seven Veils. Mean-while back at the farm TERRY SWANK is now experimenting on another type of grain. He be- lieves that his type will grow to maturity in just six weeks thus allowing him more free time. GARY SHEPHERD is now running for the job of senator. If he should succeed in gening this post it would certainly be his type of work as he always did have the ability to talk fast and say the right thing when in a difficult situation. JODINE THIELMAN has just recently finished a dramatic course and is now teaching it in CHS. BRUCE Raunchy WALTERS' book. Bruce's Rock Abye Your Baby” bed time stories, has just passed the two million mark and is still selling. Guess we’U have to read it to find out why it's a best seller. ROGER WOLFE, an architect major, is now building sky scrapers to the moon in New York. Claims he likes sitting on top of the world. As for us, DONNA KOSSEL and Q.LEN PUGSLEY, we have had five husbands in two years and are con- centrating on our sixth!!! It’s a great scheme, made us a million. Will We, the Class of 1958, in the town of Chester, the county of Liberty, and the state of Montana, be- ing in as good mental condition as usual, do hereby make this, our last will and testament. We give and bequeath, freely and without reservations or stipulations, to the Junior class, our right- ful heirs, and to their heirs and assigns forever our most important and valuable properties, namely, our self-satisfaction, our importance, and our wisdom, all of which we possess in enormous quantities. In addition to this, all our privileges and rights as Seniors in classroom will revert to them, as well as any notebooks, pencils, fountain pens, unfinished lollypops, or unfinished business, including debts con- tracted while engaged in the business of being Seniors. We give and bequeath, to the Junior class our well-known nerve, which they will need next year, and all the examination questions we have been given during the past year. We believe that an examina- tion, like History, often repeats itself. The answers, never owned in entirety, have long since been mis- laid by us and are not included in this legacy. To our friends, the Sophomore class, we leave our patience. It will be found useful as the only means by which they can endure the Juniors. To the young and unsophisticated Freshmen we leave a map of the school building, so that they will not get lost and roam about in everybody's way looking for theit classrooms. We include with this map our little book entitled, How to tell the Teachers, written by Rog in behalf of the entire class. The legatees will notice this book is not WHAT to tell the teachers but HOW. It contains specific information as to which teachers can be bluffed, which are easy and which are hard to please and those whom it is impossible to please. It tells who your favorite authors must be to stand well with the English department, which political party the history teacher belongs to, and what questions to ask to make the science teacher forget the lesson and be interesting. This information is invaluable to any wishing fo make high grades in the subjects mentioned. It is noticed that, although we have left bequests to the Junior class, soon to be Seniors, to the Sophomores, soon to be Juniors, and to those who will in the fall, become Freshmen, we have made no mention of the present Freshman class which will be known as the Sophomore class in a few months. We have left them nothing, because by that time their self-evaluation will have attained such heights that nothing in our possession would be regarded by them as worthy of their distinction. BLAKE McDOWELL bequeaths to his brother, Lance, his supply of language. Now, with this, Lance can talk more and say less than anyone in high school. RAY SEIDLITZ in providing for Sharon Ward's care after graduation leaves this duty to Gail Christenot. DELANOR ZORN (BUZZY) wills his ability to fake a foul on the basketball court to all future Chester Coyotes, and he hopes that they can get away with it as he did. JERRY ALBRIGHT wills his class ring to Verna Lehrman so that she might not forget. JOHN ENGLUND bequeaths his shyness to Barbara Whitney in hopes that she will appreciate it. TERRY SWANK wills his front tooth to anyone who has the nerve to play football. DELBERT BOYER. LYLE EVELAND, BRUCE WALTER and DENNIS STORES bequeath their seats in deten- tion hall to anyone who thinks he can commit the perfect crime and get away with it. JIM WIGMORE wishes Speed Wright had willed him his height last year so that he could have passed it on to someone else. NANCY IVERSON wills her smooth, easy going personality to Richard Burrows. ELLEN PUGSLEY leaves her senior ways to all future seniors. GARY SHEPHERD passes on a bottle of brown Shinola shoe polish to Garry Heikkila. DON HENRY bequeaths his charming ways to Russell Meech. Q.LEN STRIEGEL will the honor of being valedictorian to anyone who likes to make speeches. RONNIE SUNDERLAND bequeaths his desk in the hall to anyone who finds English boring. WILLAGENE BERG wills her friendly ways to Andrea Bubnash. In 1956 Dianne Luchetti willed her position as top gum chewer of the school to CLETUS ZORN and now CLETUS is passing it on to Judy Graham. DONNA KOSSEL leaves to Sylvia Freeland her position of first chair clarinet. LOIS LAMBOTT wills her ability to sleep all through high school to anyone who needs some extra rest. BEVERLY WRIGHT bequeaths her majorette hat to Sandra Swank. JODINE THIELMAN and ROGER WOLFE give their blessing to Linda Kammerzell and Gary Standiford. SHARON WRIGHT leaves a certain junior boy to a certain freshman girl. | !3 X L' 1 1,1 V .L-9-: i '• f L, irk RICHARD BURROWS GALE CHRISTENOT DALLAS DENTER DENIS FREELAND DANIEL HARMON RAYMOND HEMMER LINDA KAMMERZELL MIDORI KAWANISHI BETTY LAKEY ROBERT MATTSON ROBERT McAULEY GEORGE McGUIRE RUSSEL MEECH ROBERT FETTAPIECE MARILYN SCHROER DOROTHY SHETTEL GARY STANDIFORD MARION STANDIFORD SANDRA SWANK BILLIE VIOLETT GARY WENDT DUANE ZORN ophomom Arlene Albright Jeri Alex Suzanne Bredeson Norman Bruce James Cicon Errol Fritz Tom Gilltn Judy Graham Linda Graham Sharon Gummer Gerry Heikkila Bruce Jacobson Jim Laas Margaret Lalum Lance Lambott Verna Lehrman Lance McDowell Vicky Pettapiece John Schroer Helen Stores Edwin Stubbert Marjorie Thielman Meridel Wendt Barbara Whitney Teddy Zom Gary Zom veshmm Sandra Albright Beverly Anderson Carolyn Barrett George Berg Pat Bresnahan Sally Brown Andrea Bubnash Birgit Burkhard Kenny Christenot Aline Eveland Wayne Eveland Joel Fenger Allen Flaten Sylvia Freeland Bonnie Fritz Eddie Green Ronnie Greer Lila Ish Gary Jensen Darlene Laas Mariene Lalum Robert Lalum Andrea Mattson Clarence Morrison Robert Nordstrom Judy O'Brien Terry Odegard Ben Oswood Margaret Runnion Pat Seidlitz Billy Steven Sharon Ward Sherrill Ward Gordon Wendt Darla Yarborough 8th Qrade FRONT ROW: Don Keith, Rodney Shepherd, Larry Elies, Dick Alex, Bob Hutchison, Marvin Sunderland, John Starke, Terry Rockman, Judy Harmon.
