CLASS I-IISTOIQY N a brrght sunshrny mornrng n September I926 several hundred small exerted chrldren forsook babyhood forever and embarked on the penlous voyage that rs educatron At Foote Street College Street Dora Jones Baldw n and Eureka we learned the fundamentals of read n rrtrn and rrthmetrc under capable teachers who endeared themselves to each small puprl Our grammar school days are now only pleasant memorres ot work play and companronshrp but we realize they were preparing us tor the long hard grand that IS hrgh school When we entered the seventh grade we telt that a detlnute mrlestone n our Irves had been passed The hrst tew days were a seemrngly endless processron ot blocks lockers and new 'faces but once we had conquered the former two we seemed to be truly a part ot the hgh school The next year being erghth graders we were elrgrble tor the varrous organrzatrons ot the hugh school proper such as the glee clubs and the student councrl Thrs year we were Introduced to the long dreaded terrors ot Iatrn and algebra but most ot us found the realrty not qurte so terrrble as the antrcrpatron A Junror College was added to our school at the begrnnrng ot thrs school year but a slnght change rn the arrangement ot the blocks was the only way we were attected Our nrnth year saw a complete change rn our system ot gradrng The school year was drvrded Into terms ot sux weeks and exams which had threatened at regular Intervals during our school careers approached us twrce as otten Musrcal organrzatrons have played a large part rn our school actrvrtles The glee clubs boys and gurls under Mass Hutchrns Mass Wnllxams and Mrss Shealey successively have Interested many of our members and have done much to advance good musrc rn the school The band under Mr Huchrns rn 34 was reorganlzed the next year under Mr Allen It has grown steadrly srnce and has contnbuted much to the enthusrasm of the student body rn chapel and at games We began the last half of our hrgh school days wrth Increased responsrbrlrtres and a growrng sense of our rmportance The hugh spot ot the year was that long dreamed ot occasron the rumor sensor party Ot that memorable evening In May let at be sand It we may be so bold as to boast that a good time was had by all It was not untrl the last week ot school that lull betore the hustle and bustle ot Commencement that we realrzed that our days rn the burldrng we had learned to love were numbered Wrth drthculty we realrze that we are senrors Graduation untrl now a hazy blur on a 'tar distant horizon IS a concrete event Drplomas the ultrmate goal ot eleven years ot hard work are wrthrn our grasp As we leave Chester H gh and begun the serrous bus ness of Irvrng we realrze that In the years o come we wll look on the days spent wrthrn her shelterrng walls as the happrest of our Irves From year to year our number has been constantly changrng We have lost trrends but new ones have lorned from rural schools and from other towns Those who have been rn the Chester Cnty Schools contrnuously srnce the trrst grade are Mottat Anderson BII Bruce Marlon Conrad Kathryn Coogler Ball Cornwall Morgan Crag Mary Ellen Cunnmgham Gertrude Darby Harry Davrs Morns Ehrlrch Elrzabeth Gayden John Holder Dorothy Horner Roy Huey Eugema Lgon Wrllram McAIrIey Altred McCoy Haskell McKeown John H Muller Eva Porter Jett Rhodes Margaret Robbins EI za beth Robrnson Elonse Vaughn Lorene Warmoth Ann Whrte Eluzabeth White Mary Phrllrps Whrte Bertre Wrlkes Frances Wrllrams Bette Wood Sunnre Mae Woodle Eloise Wylre Clarence Young Jr MARY PHILLIPS WHITE Hrstonan 37 O 1 I 1 I 1 1 1 1 lr 11 -...-. .. -11 .
