This class in Bookkeeping I finds no time to dream as Mrs. Knox tirelessly guards against mistakes. The world of commerce and trade provides golden opportunities for graduates competently trained in the many phases of commercial education. In addition to the general business training offered during the sophomore year, specialization in salesmanship, secretarial procedures, oflice machine practice, bookkeeping and accounting are available to the advanced student. On-the-job training, as provided through distributive education, offers the student an opportunity to earn as well as learn. Outstanding commercial students, through the aid of the Pennsylvania Employment Service and the Placement Bureau at the high school, are often placed in positions even before graduation. ALDA M. RAYMOND SCHWEET Distributive Education PAUL USAVAGE '7n cm 46564556 7aae Acknowledging the importance of the aesthetic devel- opment of the individual, Chester High School nurtures the creative instincts of its students by providing an art curriculum of unusual scope. Here the pupils may experi- ment in the various media of art. Commercial art, oil and water painting, modeling, technical designing and fashions provide many avenues of self-expression. The outstanding quality of the art work which appears in the school yearbook, the Annual, is a tribute not only to the originality of the students, hut also to the excellence of the instruction. Furthermore, graduates of the art cur- riculum have won numerous prizes in both state and na- tional competition. Mathematics , Q 6 f W BY if 5 5 JOHN DEMARSKI ROBERT E. VAUGHAN LEWIS R.
