Trying their skill at dressmaking. Preparation for a happy home life is given pupils in the homemaking course. Spa- cious food and clothing laboratories provide homemaking students with both practical and professional experience. Homemaking majors engage in several projects during the year: the senior workshop, where clothing, drap- eries, and slipcovers may be made or alteredg the tea room, operated by foods majorsg and the nursery school. 46 . - Q6 - .Vi An appreciation of .American art and artists is given Chester pupils. The study of art, however, is not confined to the classroom alone. Art majors take trips to art museums. galleries, and schools to further their knowl- edge of period art techniques. Annually, stu- dents sulimit work to the Scholastic Art Awards contest. In addition they prepare posters for school and civic organizations and illustrations for the year book.
