Ches- ter's course has four divisions: selling, ac- counting, secretarial, and general commercial learn shorthand. ,Q-P' so the student may select that field of special- ization which will prepare him to enter the business field of his choice. For the first two years, all commercials follow a general business course. In the junior year they select their field of special- ization. lf onc's specialty is sales, he trans- fers to distributive education in his senior yearg otherwise hc continues as a general commercial. Secretarials have the oppor- tunity of spending three weeks working in offices throughout the city. A placement de- partment is maintained to provide full and part-time positions for all commercial stu- dents. Modern machines for modern methods. Typing skill comes through daily practice. 46 . - Q6 - .Vi An appreciation of .American art and artists is given Chester pupils. The study of art, however, is not confined to the classroom alone. Art majors take trips to art museums. galleries, and schools to further their knowl- edge of period art techniques. Annually, stu- dents sulimit work to the Scholastic Art Awards contest. In addition they prepare posters for school and civic organizations and illustrations for the year book. This year art pupils participated at Hallowe'en in the win- dow painting contest sponsored by the Op- tlIl11StS. sinh John Lesicko and John Seiler decorate M. J.
