DEEPLY APPRECIATED in the Delaware County and the Pennsylvania Historical societies, as well as in classical music and travel. Her yearly custom of giving candy for perfect recitations on the day preceding the Christmas holidays has encouraged her pupils to hit the books harder in an effort to receive this treat. Reminiscing, Miss Jackson speaks warmly of her former students, a few of whom are fea- tured in the preceding pages: Pard Larkin, Watson Pedlow, Besse Howard, Mary Reagan, John Ogden, and Theodore Smithers. It is, therefore, with a feeling of pride, inter- mingled with reverence that we dedicate our yearbook to Miss Caroline M. Jackson. Because of the important part she has played in the educational development of Chester’s youth, the seniors proudly dedicate the 1942 Annual to Miss Caroline M. Jackson, herself an outstanding graduate of Chester High School, who returned to her Alma Mater as a teacher, and who has headed the social science department for the post thirtee i years. In September, Miss Jackson received the dis- tinguished service award presented yearly by the Rotary Club to a teacher of the Chester School System in recognition of her contributions to the community, civic and scholastic. Listed among her hobbies is a special interest
