IN MEMORY OF HIS MANY YEARS OF SERVICE TO THE SCHOOL AND THE COMMUNITY, WE THE 1977 FLYER STAFF WOULD LIKE TO PIACE THIS BOOK IN MEMORIAM TO WILLIAM DANIEL, SR. WE THE 1977 FLYER STAFF, IN APPRECIATION FOR ALLOW- ING US TO USE HER POEM AS A THEME FOR THIS YEAR'S YEAR- BOOK, WOULD LIKE TO DEDICATE THIS ANNUAL TO GLADYS RED DIN. MY BOOK OF MEMORIES In the quiet peaceful eventide, I sit along by my fireside, And from my chest of treasuries Read through my book of memories. And in it's faded chapters find Broken fragments of many kinds. The hidden desires within my breast, Crumbled like flowers these pages pressed. In this book will be memories of friends, school life, activities, athletics, and aca- demics. We will always cherish our high school days. And what we've learned we will carry with us always. A few of the highlights were the Andrew Sisters, The Wizard of Oz, Mrs. Miller, Elvis Presley, The Beatles, Shirley Temple, and Gone With the Wind. The cast would like to thank Mr. Odegaard, Mrs. Person, and Peggy Schmidt for all of their assistance. They put up with alot during those long hours of practice. The setting of the play was an old abandoned hospital. The twins, Jane and Ellen were to spend the night as a part of an initiation into a sorority. While the girls were being scared out of their wits, their uncle and some friends were in reality trying to scare them so badly that they would stop watching scary movies. The play was different from many of the others before, but everyone enjoyed putting it on very much. Our thanks to Mrs. Person, our director. 10 Activities Students Accelerate in Music Front Row: Mr. Odegaard, Teresa Sterling, Roxanne Groeneveld, Pam Buchheim, Karen Baumberger, Dawn Conn, Sonja Augustad, Janice Gaspar, Kim Pederson, Kim Augustad, Penny Bauman, Lisa Aldrich, Penny Persing, Donna Kock, Deb Malthesen, Edye Webster, Teresa Hohwieler, Kristi Anderson, Tammy Hohwieler, Second Row: Michelle Rozell, Patty Muth, Peggy Schmidt, Carolyn Carruthers, Susan Heibult, JoAnn Baumberger, Kathy George, Carla Lidel, Sandy Minnaert, Julie Reiff, Carla Jensen, Jaime Ostraat, Dianna Hefner, Luann Minnaert. On Decem- ber 16, 1976, a large audience attended and were thoroughly entertained by the annual Christmas concert. At the performance the Chorus sang the Messiah in its en- tirety. The Swing Choir lightened the mood by singing a more modern style of music, like Let There Be Peace on Earth, and Godspell. April 19, 1977, the Chorus and Band Spring Concert was presented. Several musical se- lections, which included, Sine Nomine, and Saints Bound For Heaven, were delivered by the mixed chorus. On May 2, 1977, the Swing Choir and Jazz Band had their turn to please the community. The Swing Choir again demonstrated their ability through melodies such as, One Tin Soldier, and Yesterday Once More. On March 22, the swing choir and soloists went to Madison for contests. Singing a German song Wohin , Tami Limmer received a first. The swing choir sang a Godspell medley with spirit and movements. The fading lines each day grow dim, Like lost visions that might have been. And as I recall those wondrous years, My pages are marked by falling tears. The dying embers slowly fade away As I close my book for another day, For these secrets are alone for me, Locked in my soul with a golden key. Within the boundaries of my heart, We're never but a page apart. So with compassion I'll always look Between the covers of my Memory Book .
