Sweetheart Candidates; Front Row: Sheila Goodale, Cathy Black, Janet Schlotterback. Back Row: Dale Burkard, Dave Daniel, Jim Muth. The Sweetheart Ball was held on May 30. At 9:00 the king and queen were crowned. Following the corona- tion, a Grand March Dance was held, which is Pictured At Right. Sweetheart Ball 1974 Queen Nancy King Terry Seasons in the Sun .. . , Ken Williams gave the welcome. Jackie Hefner was Mistress of Ceremonies. Dave Beeck gave the Senior response. Krista and Jim read the Prophecy. Tena and Jim read the Will. 6 Rev. Richard Moberly was the guest speaker.

“Take Your Medicine This will make you feel better! Dress him nurses! Temperchure! Sorry just wanted to kill him! Angela introduces her fiance. Dr. Jackson, to her Uncle Henry who mistakes him for a surgeon. Henry promise Dr. Jackson $50,000 for the first life he saves. This puts him in many jams, but ends up with Dr. Jackson saving Henry from Hoofendyke. There wasn't a dull moment in the whole play. The Cast: Henry Dodson-Pat Baumberger, Angela Warren-Donna Tollefson, Dr. Jackson- Harley Irvine, Miss Holt-Michele Boyles, Patricia Pryor-Camen Kapuan, Dottie-Julie Kroger, Lottie-Rose George, Jack Benson-Jay VanLiere, Jonathan Puckett-Dave Daniel, Miss Cordelia Puckett-Nancy Gerry, Turtle Dove- Terry Uthe, Dodie Blake-Darcy Kock, Hoofendyke-Jim Groeneveld, Old maid-Cindy Jenson and Gloria Reurink, Middle aged woman- Donna Mathison, little daughter-Tena Harding, directed by Mr. Borchardt. 5 Hat's off to Mr. Borchardt.

Junior Class Presents “Headin' for the Hills Mrs. Husby: A proud Director1 Did he say, Get out a towel? Are you serious? Takin' a bath just ain't natural Paw! Duh! You'll make a lovely Widow Squiggens! Caught ya again Cyrus! It looks like I overslept! 1 j The Junior class put on the play Headin' for the Hills . Mrs. Husby did a fine job directing the play, which was presented April 4th and 5th to full houses. The plot involved two wealthy, city orphans who have to spend their summers in the hills, with their only living relatives. Their Uncle Cyrus and his family try to scare them away by making hillbilly life worse than it really is. The plot also revolves arould two old maids who are after Cy, but the lady who really is after him is the Widow Squiggens. Corny thinks of a plan to get them married, and so the play ends with everyone headin' for the weddin'. The cast included: Corny- Jackie Hefner; Dot-Patty Malthesen; Cy-Kevin Uthe; Bette Bel I-Krista Benson; Happy-Cheryl Frederickson; Skeets-Leanne Van Dam; Hank- Mike Klamm; Widow Squiggens -Cathy Black; Aunt Sukey- Janet Schlotterback; Miss Oggie-Jean Hagg; Slim-Craig Holbeck; Miss Winslow-Jane Acheson; Horseface Dilly- Vince Huwe; Jake-Don Schaefer; Emmy Jean-Kathy Deelstra; Zeke and his Maw- Dan Schutt and Viola Hansen; The Squiggens chiIdren-Cindy Nugent, Larry Farr, Kevin Pedersen, Tom Park, and Jean Brown; Musician-Beth Fedeler. All the characters were at the school at 6:30 sharp to be made up for their big perform- ances. The makeup people were busy as there were a lot of kids to makeup. Through all the excitement could be heard sayings like This can't be me! or Not so much makeup!
