Give-a-Damn The Clive-A-Damn club is an organiza- tion which serves the local community in many ways. The club participates in projects which benefit Cheshire and sur- rounding cities. The club has participated in the town wide food drive, the CHS food drive, and the COCO activities. The advisors are Ms. Bednardczyk and Mr. Martinook. 'U' 'im Blood Drive Volunteers The Blood Drive volunteers are a group of dedicated students from all four classes. Twice a year, in conjunction with the local Red Cross, they organize, super- vise, and staff the blood drives held here at the high school in the fall and the spring under the tutelage of Mr. Pepe, Mr. Swift, and Mr. Sattler. This year the blood drives have been extremely suc- cessful, as many students have volun- teered both their time and their blood. 136!Clubs and Activities 'W' RE.O.RL.E. The PE,O,PL.E. Club CPeople Enjoying Other People Living Elsewherej is com- posed of German students and is advised by Mrs. Stegerwald. These students spon- sor a young girl in Colombia. They also provide the community with services such as collecting food, toys, and clothing for needy people.

Board of Education Representatives Every year four CHS students serve as liasons between the student body and the Board of Education. This year's represen- tatives are George Brough, Kevin Dayton, Sheryl Ehrlich, and Shellie Peck. They report on issues which concern students and sometimes they investigate special projects for the Board. 1 N .M 'it .2 Cadet Volunteers Cadet volunteers are foreign language students who share their knowledge of a language, either German, French, Latin, or Spanish by teaching the language to grammar school or junior-high school students. The goal of this program is to inspire younger students to continue their language studies at the high school level. Peer Advocates The Peer Advocates are CHS students who are specially trained in basic com- munication skills. They are supposed to act as a valuable resource for helping other students with personal problems. They provide information for personal decision-making involving issues such as alcohol, drugs, sexuality, and relation- ships. Clubs and Activities!l37
