The main projects of the year were: the Junior Play, 'Finders Creepersn presented April lg honoring the Seniors at the Junior-Senior Banquet which was cn May 2h3 and the big event of the year, the J-Hop which was a tremendous suc- cess. The Varsity Club sponsored the dances after all the home football and basketball games. Part of the money taken in at these dances was used to provide sandwiches or chocolate milk for the players on the visiting teams. In the local contest which took place in the study hall on March 9 there were twenty-two participants. In oratorical declamations, Ronald Bila took first place and Judy Kenni- cott second, in interpretative readings, Janet Sulen was first and LaVerne Skaryd second, humorous readings, Richard Holzhausen first and Eugene Ellis second. These students, together with Yolanda Kollar and Carol George who gave their original orations,represented our school at the District Contest held in St. Louis on March 28 where they competed with students from St. Louis, Durand, Ithaca, and Clare. The local students made a very good showing taking two first places and three seconds. Janet Sulen placed first in in- terpretative readings, Ronald Bila first and Judy Kennicott second in ora- torical declamations, Richard Holzhausen second in humorous, and Yolanda Kollar second in original orations.
