Principal’, M esia t AMERICAS' PROMISE Each and every student in the Cherry Valley Central School, along with every youth in America, is a combin- ation of possibilities. Your job is to discover your own worthwhile possibilities and to make them count for something for yourself and for those about you. What possibilities are worthwhile? How can you go about discovering and developing them? Your country says to each of you, I aim to offer every boy and girl in America a chance to be somebody. I cannot make you use your chance. That is up to you. In order to be somebody you must do worthwhile things. Success in life consists in making the MOST of what is in you. By your scholarship you can show that you have the ability to learn. By achievement in extracurricular activities, you can show that you have interests that will contribute to a well-rounded life. By your loyalty to the school you can demonstrate your willingness to cooperate for the best interests of yourself and others. The school cannot give you these abilities. It can give you the opportunity to develop them. How you use the opportunities of the school depends on you. It is my hope and the hope of the faculty that you will make full use of all that the school can offer. C. Deane Sinclair
