Two thunderjets have colided in the Honolulu airport. The crash occurred when one plane was taking off and the other was landing on the same runway. We now turn you over to that noted com- mentator, Jack Smith. We are now in the hospital room of the two pilots. Let's ask tnem for a comment. I don't know what happened. says one pilot, Ask him. How the (censored) would I know. replies his companion. Here come two pretty nurses with the pilot's dinners. After they leave we hear. Wasn't that---------? It sure was. Then what are we waiting for? And now we switch you back to the United States for the rest of the news of the day. Two weeks later the two pilots, none other than Lieutenant Bill Graham and Lieutenant Dick Heyn, leave the hospital grounds with the two nurses, Phyllis Edmonds and Harriett Hayes. Their first stop is at a night spot called Weigel's Heaven which is owned and operated by Werner Weigel who became a millionaire by selling tractors that run by remote control. As they enter the Heaven, that popular American singer, Susan Harlow, known to us as Ruthie Snyder, comes out on the stage to sing. She is accompanied by that famous Hawaiian orchestra, Art and his Royal Hawaiians meaning, of course, Gerald Gross. After she has finished her song they beckon her to their table. Their attention is then caught by a commotion in the corner of the room. A young man seems to be bothering a pretty young lady. At a second glance they see that the young man is Reggie Whiteman and the lady, none other than the noted Hawaiian fashion designer, Lenore Read. After they recover from the surprise, all eight dine together. The next day, while on a tour of the city, Dick, Harriett, Bill and Phyllis stop at a beauty salon where they see a familiar name on the shingle. As they enter the building Toni K. comes to meet them. She tells them that this is one of five such places throughout the country. How about a place to rest up over the weekend? asks Harriett. Toni replies, I know a ranee owned by one of our old classmates that isn't far from here. Anxious to see all their old classmates tney immediately hurry to the prospective spot which is, The Lazy Dude Resort Ranch owned and operated by Bevie Pitt. There they see Bevie with the Hostess of the ranch, Phyllis Whiteman. 10 The next day after returning from a tour on horseback of the ranch, they find another visitor. Who was it? None other than Mr. Redman on vacation from the duties of being a President in a University in the Western part of the United States. The class of 52 all gathered that night at Bevie's ranch for a re- union. My!” they all exclaimed, What you see when you least expect.it. Those happy days are here again. 11 NAME PHYLLIS EDMONDS WILLIAM GRAHAM HARRIETT HAYES RICHARD HEYN RUTH SNYDER ANTOINETTE K. The squad of twelve men was made up of inexperienced boyes; only three, Graham, Oeser and Bogardus having played before. Al- though the team failed to win a game the boys played well and in the games against Milford and Van Hornesville the home team lead up to the last thirty seconds. rr. Defensively there were no standouts. Louie V ickwire, Glenn Ball and Lee Thompson showed much improvement in the last two games. Eight of the twelve will be returning and with the experience gained tnis year we should have an improved team next fall. Baseball row 1—J. Deseletes, R. Green, W. Linee, J. Mizerak, P. Bogardus, D. BASEBALL The 15l Baseball Season, with £ victories and 7 defeats, was not the drab season which the latter indicates. The beginning of the season was a little discouraging but our victories came in the last part of it after the fellas gained some experience. The 1 season was highlighted with a 7-i| victory over West Winfield. Key injuries and loss of some of the previous year's team have hampered the team. Remaining team players are having the fun of participating in a great sport and have reached their high point with a two-overtime tie with Illion, Central New York's best. They will end their season with a four team tournament playday for benefit of charity. Ruth Snyder continues her high scoring, while Phyllis Edmonds, Elinor Gross, Claudia Wentworth, Marian Shulgay, and Laura Webster standout for their defensive guarding against much taller a ponents. Grades 9-11 drew up a proposed constitution and presented it to the Jr. and Senior high school in an assembly. Amendments were made and the constitution was passed. The government is run by a student council (picture above). This organization made a successful start by sponsering a circus to raise money for the J.V. Cheerleaders’ uniforms. Mr. Smith should be given a lot of credit for helping start this government. Officers—President-B. Weeks, Vice President-N. Bowen, Reporter- J. Haith, Secretary-G. Markel, Treasurer-E. During the course of the year, three new members were added bring- ing our membership up to thrity-two. Instrumentally it is a well balanced group having a large and competent reed section, boasting a full choir of saxes which is unusual in a band of its size. We made our first public appearance in the Halloween parade, and played at the open house when the new school building addition was dedicated. We furnished background music for the Student, Council Circus on March 11. The climax of the year was the annual May Con- cert and section of the band that provided music for PTA. meetings. 44 The Girls' choir has maintained a membership of forty-five and fifty all year, drawing its members from grades seven through twelve. We sang at the annual Christmas program at school and a carol sing at the Presbyterian Church; provided the nucleus for the chorus at the F.F.A. minstral show in March, and took part in the spring concert in May. From the larber chorus group, two Beauty Shop Quartets were formed. These girls have provided music for PTA. Row1l-Left3'to Right: J. Read, G. McCarthy, T. Klimuszka, K. Nelson, P. Hoke, R.
