CLASSH STORY To greet Kiss Pauline Gilday in 1939 thore was Edmund Davis , Charles Diamond, Nicholas' Dudish, Thomas Kovac, John Mizerak, David Horse, Emory Oescr, Herbert Tennies, Alvah Van Derwerker, Polly Diamond, Barbara Fassett, Jean Leneker, Mary Ottman, Florence Porath, Janet quant, Sylvia Rury, llellie Spencer, Kathleen Yerdon, Shirley Yerdon, and Coldia Mae Clapper. In first grade we weren t very active because we didn!t know each other very well, although we do remember David Morse chasing a red head around the room quite a bit. In our next year Bill Mulder, Henry Yerdon, and Anna Kretser joined us. We now had fourteen in our class and Miss Emma Bishop-Tad her hands full. The third grade proved to be very interesting as it was a new experience for us. We now had two grades in one room all under the guidance of Mrs. Elizabeth Lehman. Every morning Mrs. Lehman would call, Harold Baldwin, Eddie Davis, Polly Diamond, Barbara Fasaett, John Mizerak, Billy Mulder, Mary Ottman, Sylvia Rury, llellie Spencer, James Swank, Peter Shulgay, Herbert Tennies, Beatrice 7 illiams, Henry Yerdon? To this everyone would usually answer present. At the mid year Sally Ann Frawley Joined us. Poor Mrs. Lehman was stuck with us again in the fourth grade. There were only ten of us so it wasn!t quite as hard on her. We all liked Mrs. Lehman very much and learned a lot even though it was necessary to discipline us quite often. We passed to the 5 th grade and Mrs. Cole. Six newcomers; Reg- inald Whiteman, Gerald KcFee, Ivan Barnes, Richard Garlock, Phyllis Y hiteman, and Rose Ann Gordon were added to the mischevious group of Eddie Davis, Johnnie Mizerak, Billy Mulder, Henry Yerdon, Polly Diamond, Barbara Fassett, Mary Ottman, Sylvia Rury, and llellie Spencer. It seems that more Ink was spilled that year than was used. If Barbie wasn!t falling asleep while Mrs. Cole v as reading. Rose Ann, llellie and Mary were cleaning up ink which one of the boys had spilled. In the 6th grade we began our acting career with Mrs. Veronica Reynolds. Polly eloped with Young Lochinvar in our great dra- matic production of this epic poem. Elmer Valdwin, Barbara Austin, and Gloria Corron added to the fun this year. In the 7th grade we were joined by Irene Tabor, Mary Country- man, Elizabeth Hubbell, Leland Layman, and Marie Camp. It was this year that Eddie, Billy, and Johnnie played ball with an orange. They missed a few times and left some evidence on the wall. Vle had a party that year. It was the last successful one we ever had. This year we were under the guidance of Mr. Frank Mathews and Miss Shirley Woodman. The 8th grade v as supposed to mean hard study. Miss Rourke, our advisor took us on a hike to Judd!s Falls. There was no mis- taking our adventure as proven by our many mosquito bites. This year we were joined by Ida Mae Baxter, Charles and Evelyn Byers, Lyman Jones, Spencer Brown, Emory Dornburg and Russell Prill.
