On the way I stopoed at the telephone booth and asked Miss Kov c (Susie to you) what is up. She didn11 know so together we hur y to the emergency ward where we scrub up and go in. Our eyes fell uoon Ellen Markel who had cut her finger and calmly fainted. She is chief dieti- cian in Cooperstown Hospital v here all of us work. TJoon review- ing her we decide to go down town after duty. We are to meet at 5:00. We called a cab (being to tired to walk) and who should answer our summons but Malcolm Boyce, better known as Mou.ieâ to us. We talk for a while about the clsss of 1950 and we decide to go to âEileensâ for suouer. Eileen Burnside-now Mrs Bichard Morton-and Dick run a very fashionable Restaurant on Main Street. We enter and Lorraine Porath who is waitress greets us and goes to p-et Eileen and Dick. Vie hear the sound of a oiano and turn to see who it is, it is none other than Mr. Rose our old class advisor. Eileen explained that he is visiting them for e while. While waiting, two girls came hurrying In, We immediatly recognized the red haired girl as Glenna mith and the other Sylvia Putnam. They are working together as Beauticians in Sylviaâs Solonâ We decided to meet for a class reunion and start on our way for home. Malcolm asked if we wanted to pro the lonr way over the new road. We agreed that it would be a pleasant change but immed- iately- about 3 b of a mile out the car suddenly stopped and we realized that we were out of gas. We see the light of a farm house so we pile out and start walking. As we reached the door our eyes fell upon Willis Prill, who is visiting there with Leslie Rathbun and his charming wife Dorothy. Willis and Leslie are also members of the class 1950. The teleohone is in order and Leslie ohones a friend of his who owns a gas station. He explains who is having the trouble and tells him to come right out. When he arrives about 3 minutes and 32 seconds after we called him we are greeted by the old familar âHi-Yahâ of Jack Hayden and then his wife appears. Believe it or it is none other than Marion Haith. Jack brought along some gas so he puts it in the gas tank of our car and we are once again on our way. Our hearts were all gay for our small class of 13 and our class advisor had all united once again. C L a s s 11) 5 0 Ills T 0 IV Y In September 19 6, the present class of 1950, started as Freshmen with twenty-two members. Of these twenty-two, twelve of us are together now. To make the lucky thirteen, Eileen Burnside joined us at the beginning of the Sophomore year. When we started that day in September, we thought we were pretty wise because at last we were in High School. Mr. Rose started as our homeroom teacher but left in November to go down with the Seniors. Our activities were rather limited that year for we had a succession of homeroom teachers. It seems that after a few weeks with us, they found that they were needed elsewhere. Some how we managed to elect class officers, which were: PresidentâMarion Ilaith, Vice PresidentâMalcolm Boyce, Sec- retaryâLorraine Porath and TreasurerâLouise VanSpange. Our only money making activity was selling soft drinks at baseball games. We drank up most of our profit. That was the year our class had the float in the Odd Fellowâs Parade. Mrs. Neilson, our temporary homeroom teach- er, helped us with it. The scene was Getting Ready For the Odd Fellowâs Ball, A Hundred Years Before. We didnât win a prize but we received honorable mention. In our Sophomore year we had a play called Let Me Out of Here under the direction of Miss Himberg, our class ad- visor. With all the backstage comedy we didnât learn our parts until the day of the .play. Mr. Rose came to our res- cue, so everything came out all right. Thanksgiving we had a turkey raffle which Malcolmâs father won. Nothing like keeping it in the class. Our class officers that year were Eileen, Marion, Lorraine and Louise. In our Junior year under the direction of Miss Genovesi and Mr. Rose, our class advisor this year, we presented a- nother play called Donât Be Bashful. The night of the play we skipped three pages. Everyone got so mixed up that we didnât know what we were doing. Malcolm kept us going by say- ing Iâm in charge here. This play resulted in a romance between Eileen and Dick, which is still going strong even though the play ended in one night. Just before the play we moved from the Social Studies room to the Ag room where Mr. Rose once again had us as his problem children. To make money we had a food sale and sold candy after the Seniors went on their trip. CLASS HISTORY The next fall when we came back to school we were pretty- proud of the fact that we were Seniors. We knew that we had a goal to reach before we could go on our Senior Trip, so we plunged in. We had a bountiful supper attended by a very people and decided to have no more. The highlight of our four years in high school v as our Senior Play, Look Out Lizzie. The cast included Eileen Burn- side, Ellen Markel, Dick Norton, Jack Hayden, Malcolm Boyce, Glenna Smith, Leslie Rathbun and Marion Haith. This was our best paying propisition, for besides playing to a large aud- ience here at school, we took the play to Morris and Coopcr- stown where we performed for more large audiences and truly led the life of a trouper. Highlights of our road trip was a flat tire in the village of Laurens at midnight. On April 7, we left for a four day tour of Y ashington and a three day tour of Hew York under the auspices of Van Zile Tours. Highlights of the Washington trip were: watch- ing the egg rolling at the White House, Easter Morn, a visit to Mount Vernon and a dance at the Hotel Hamilton Saturday night for all tour participants. The last three days were spent in New York where we saw Arthur Godfrey1s Television Show, The Rockettes, the Ice Show, and other tours of interest. We returned home April li4.th. very tired but happy. Weâre now looking forward to Graduation June 28th. Best Looking Girl............. Best Looking Boy............ Cutest Girl...................
