We chose not to follow in the footprints of others but blazed a fresh and exciting trail of enthusiasm. Gifted with compatibility and a true, old-fashioned love for the rah- rah spirit, we were proud of ourselves and of each other. Wasting no ideas, we turned them into activities. The class of '73 became almost immediately what most wait four years to become, and some never achieve. Those chimeric dreams which bound us then in simplicity have grown strong and assumed the form of common ex- perience. All that we are leaving behind-a name in a book or on a trophy, a blue rug, a broken freshman heart, and several class-honored, four year traditions-are sympols of memories. In remembering them, we may leave as individ- uals still united by an enduring sense of having been a class. Spare us the traditional, sad farewell. No epitaphs for the class of 1973.
