Society presented us with conflicting standards. Searching for a non-existent norm, we found only our own reflec- tion, confused and distorted in the eye of the Establishment. But in the cold dawn of that New Year, where was the long antici- pated magic? We were teen-age adults, gill-green fresh and Snow White in- nocent. Now moral issues became legal responsibilities and liability com- plicated the struggle for identity. Day to day we had to prove our Cinderella- hood-cards for alcohol, passes for Michael Ross Ian L Roving teachers. No one seemed to recognize us as different from all the other danc- ers at the Ball.
