We moved easily into the role of the senior. For three years we had been working and planning and finally we were ready. No class had crammed more activities into one year, the last, the most precious year, had to be the best! Activities that had been successful before were re- peated: nostalgic trips, movie nights, and square dances. We were first again in class competitions and the controversial MAN OF LA MAN- CHA surpassed all expectations. Toward the end, activities became less frequent as each of us began preparing for the break-away, for next year and independence. It was not disinterest in the present but anticipation of the future that made class plans less important. At graduation we were one-in fear, sorrow, and disbelief. Those speakers couIdn't be referring to us, those Iaurels could not possibly be ours. Several days passed before we realized that we were finished.
