' ? W We were not a timid freshman congregation! In the time most classes spend getting orientated we had drawn up a constitution and elected officers. In early September the Campbell-Bandoroff team, encour- aged by Mr. losephs, began planning our future ac- tivities. The Daily Bulletin, the first of many new tra- ditions, informed us of trips, sales, and picnics. But the magazine sale, a traditional money-maker, was not successful. We realized that a class does not live on enthusiasm alone and sought new strategies. A plea in the Daily Bulletin stimulated imagination of all kinds and we gamely tried a new approach. After school in the cafeteria we peddled hamburgers, pizza, and real kosher dills. Even the Halloween candy sale was a sweet success all year long. The word Freshman began frequenting the tired lips of many an upperclassman as we waged war against the rising force of apathy. The class of '73 was at every pep rally and every game, cheering a losing team. Our governor proved he was a GOOD MAN, and one of us even squeezed his way into the lunior- Senior MAME. White T-shirts with the purple numer- als '73 were everywhere. In spite of the student strike and no dress code, WE CAREd.

Apathy came into vogue in our second year. School spirit seemed to have graduated with 'the class of '70, leaving West as colorless as student dress. We realized that Rick Chess played records and president too. Fear grew in our sophomoric hearts with the sad recognition that a senior class trip could fail. Even we were temporarily infected with the germ. Our class motto was never published and an eight loss, one win season iinxed the sale of football programs. CH Parent Think Sophs Just Great To the Editor: As the parents of a sophomore student at Cherry Hill West, we would like to commend the youngsters of this particular class. Literally hundreds of students have spent many hours this past month building their homecoming float at our home. We have encountered nothing but polite, well mannered, spirited kids. Their advisor, Mr. Josephs, their school, and the township can feel justifyably proud of them. We think they're great! Mr. and Mrs. Albert Linzner 94 north Kings highway Cherry Hill But empty stands in the stadium or the gym feven pep was optionall could not permanently cripple the class of '73. The Daily Bulletin remained con- stant, reporting that E-10 still smelled of pickles and throbbed with activity, The Valley Forge picnic was becoming a wet tradition, and our homecoming float was second only to the juniors'. The Kleenex lion conquering the moon might have been us, feet firmly planted on school soil, waving a '73 T-shirt. ,iexfsfcw .gf af My, so M jf .w-f'f ' 1 , ' ' bi Z,'f?Se99tief:,4f:.zw..,3r H L K4 W, M 1. :av-Swstwdkgmiaisifywyyffyv - f-wasnt t, W N wm1.,,..,,W..oNswmmvfvxst,. . iQi em1-r-Wsxwwwmsw,Mm .3 wi- My . k wwMe:sii..M-Mama' is., W. . 5,5 s,i,,M,H w,.t,,mWbZ3gqfmsv-sa,a,,.,,,.k,,,,..
