imagine thespians frozen upon a bare stage awaiting a single spotlight to illumine prisoners dressed in burlap rags awaiting the inquisition black robed phantoms mingle with those who wait imagine a rookie crew tense with excitement practicing their weary feet into the floorboards an imaginary spotlight shines upon costumes and props yet to arrive directors fill the void of imagined audiences providing a focus for those attempting to define a role imagine a dream imprisoned by rusty jailer's keys and in the mind of a tired gaunt nobleman stands the vision of dulcinea he is don quixote alonzo quijana cervantes knight of the woeful countenance four names grasping one concept of eternal justice peppered with proverbs from a trusting squire and a lady a kitchen scullion who becomes the vision for all men each await the verdict judgement comes when actors mingle with reality imagine a reality of finished sets and fanciful costume from the land of trumpets and spanish guitars we create our own worlds from art interpreted by a small cast of smiling nervous naive high school actors and seasoned directors thespians all playing to the audience and the human drama the bravos and the encores the vision when the bows are taken we are all Men of LaMancha activities 161
