We are the music makers. We are minstrels numbering three score roving from tree lighting ceremo- nies at Christmastime to sunrise Easter services. Concert experiences are not limited to festive holiday songs in shop- ping centers. In the auditorium twice a year, in C-4 everyday, we harmonize sharing a world of melody and laughter. September comes and a new drill sergeant enlists to straighten the line and boost the egos. On rainy days the building pulses with their spirit as eighth period teachers in A, B, and C wings fight frt stration. On Saturdays they reconnoiter at the field as rigid purple and white streamers. As they enter the arena, the director exalts in seeing all left knees up on counts 2-4-6 and 8. They too prove to be tough contestants in that day's battle for school recogniton. Contrary to popular belief they do not rest their arms after the Homecoming, but settle down to the more sophis- ticated tif less glamorousj world of concert music-hoping for an exchange program or two or three . . . We are the dreamers of dreams. We are rhapsodists standing at the crossroads of a clouded future. We are musical salesmen. Bulletin boards, swiss mints, and peanut crunch are a part of the smaller picture, filling the reality of our daily existence. Inter- mingled with these are grander dreams of distant lands and fantasies of fame on stage. The proper combination of musical notes and bank notes will de- termine the success of our endeavors.
