Now, burdened, the bough bends and sighs. I wonder if the fragile branch will break. Resting my pack against a snow cushioned rock, I feel the pain in my shoulders slip away. Bending, I slide open fingers beneath the silent snow. There is a part of the human spirit that rebels when forced into the confines of our structured world.
