Boys and Girls States, sponsored re- spectively by the American Legion and its Auxiliary, convene annually on the cam- pus ot Rutgers University in New Bruns- wick to acquaint student leaders with the principles of state government. Both groups elect officials ot a mock govern- ment and attend lectures on the duties of a citizen. Delegates for I965 were Karen Ahlquist, Celeste Anderson, Dorothy Bass, Kathleen Mullelly, Elliot Davis, Paul Feld- man, Edward Kruse, Clift Lyons, Timothy Root, Terry Shapiro, Michael Wilkes, and Robert Yarrish. BOYS STATE GIRLS STATE CITIZENSHIP INSTITUTE Margaret Miller and Beth Teitelman, selected for their participation in school activities and their tine scholastic achieve- ment, represented CHHS at the Girls' Citi- zenship Institute last June. The five-day conference at Douglass College, spon- sored by the New Jersey State Federation of Women's Clubs, was devoted to dis- cussing civic responsibility and the role of women in public life.
