FRENCH CLUB The intensity of the Gallic joie de vivre has permeated French Club activities this year. Splintered into several interest groups, club members have been able to follow their fancy: guitar, theater, singing, or conversa- tion. By presenting what they have learned, each small group has helped to acquaint the entire membership with interesting informa- tion. This past Christmas, caroling in French was enioyed as much by club members as by their audience. Advisors: Mrs. Haworth, Mr. Milby. Officers: Tina Holland. Valerie Wolf, Judy Jolie Kathy Gilligan.

The Russian Club provides its members with a comprehensive view of Russian civili- zation by means of bimonthly language classes, lectures, and films. This year's special activity was attending a concert by the Mos- cow Philharmonic Orchestra. Advisor: Mr. BuH'er. Regular meetings of this club feature German songs and conversation. Later in the year, time is devoted to preparing the German Banquet and organizing a field trip to the Pennsylvania Dutch region. Advisor: Mr. Wermuth. Officers: Eleanor Loftus. The gaiety of sunny Spain is relocated for one February evening in CHHS, Fiesta climaxes the calendar of the Spanish Club in a burst of color and excitement. An evening ot fun is guaranteed with the singing Nlari- ach is, folk dances, Spanish food, skits, and the breaking ot the piriata. A second maior proiect is a trip to New York where members enioy a theatre performance and Spanish cuisine. Regular activities are varied, but all emphasize aspects ot the Spanish culture.
