RADIO CLLQB Invited by the Guidance Department, engineers and men of industry visit the Engi- neering Club to discuss opportunities in their fields. Trips, experiments, and discussions give members the chance to exchange views on engineering. Aclvisor: Mr. Younger. Throughout the world messages are re- ceived trom call letters WQMBC, the amateur radio station of CHHS. Licensed by the F.C.C. in 1957, the club has since become one ofthe largest of its kind in the nation and has in- creased its capacity tor broadcasting and re- ceiving communications. Students with a predilection for political aFlairs maintain an unrestricted exchange of ideas at the regular meetings ofthe club. This year a delegation of club members was sent to a model House of Representatives session at Temple University. Advisor: Mrs. Kozloff. Officers: Paul Olsen, Paul Feldman, Martha Handman. DEBATE CLLJB POLITICAL SCIENCE CLUB Representing CHHS in the South Jersey Debate League, the Debate Club altords its members the opportunity of improving their speaking talents and developing their ability to think logically. The argumentative powers of the team were well tried on this year's topic-Resolved: That the Federal government should adopt a program of compulsory arbitra- tion in labor-management disputes in basic in- dustries. This year's Chess Club has been instru- mental in forming a chess league among eight South Jersey schools. CHHS has defeated such teams as Pitman, Collingswood, and Pennsauken and placed seventh in the seven- teen-school South Jersey Invitational Tourna- ment. Chess Club members meet once a week to practice and to perfect the intricacies of the game. Advisor: Mr. Buffer. President: Bill Oberle. ACCOUNTING CLLQB CHESS CLUB Training students in business practices is the obiective ofthe Accounting Club. Mem- bers attencl workshops and lectures to develop their accounting skills and to obtain informa- tion on job opportunities. Advisor: Mr. Andress.
