It is not difficult to be distracted by the deluge of special events and activities that characterize our high school years. However, we must realize that our primary role is that of students and that CHHS is the climax of our secondary education. If we are to appre- ciate fully the value of our high school expe- rience, we must recognize the fundamental purpose of CHHS, to educate. Our school is constantly evaluated as an academic institution by its administrators who are aware of the responsibility to educate. Balance is the key to our program, balance between fact and theory, classroom and prac- tical'experience, curricular and extracurricular activities. The Honors program, distributive education, and diverse special interest groups are activated to achieve this balance. We are exposed to extremes so that our minds and abilities will be developed to their fullest, and so that we will be prepared to determine our futures as individuals, conscious of our re- sponsibilities. Our high school education, the years we are now spending at CHHS, provide each of us with a disciplined and sensitive approach to answering perplexing questions.
