1 8 7 4, th e C h e r ry Creek School District was organized to serve the Melvin community. The one-room schoolhouse was used to teach grades one through eight. ln 1968, Ed Berger, a history teacher at CCHS discovered the original school- house was still standing. His class decided to restore the school and bring it home. Today, the 1874 Cherry Creek school- house is still serving the community as a museum and meeting house on the Cher- ry Creek campus. ln 1955, Cherry Creek High School opened with 24 classes, 31 teachers, 364 students, one building and something in- tangible ..,. the seeds of a proud tradi- tion we now call Creek, ln 1988, Cherry Creek High School has 1400 classes, 195 teachers, 3400 stu- dents, 4 buildings and still something in- tangible ..,. a tradition, a pride, a mis- sion that keeps the legend growing and makes us a school worthy of pride in every respect! e 9-v-if 2,- Oomous Q.,
