K JA N' r s b b gli 4 l ' X 5.23 '- H 0 m e - coming ofa flclally began on Friday, Octo- 6 ! ber 23 with the an- nual parade. Over 15 clubs and organizations had worked for hours to construct floats to enter in the parade. Before the procession began, several faculty members judged the floats. The pom pons led the parade and danced to the music of the marching band, which followed directly behind them. As the parade made its way down campus drive, onlookers had the chance to see several interesting and original floats. Bn Q1 United We Stand was the theme of the Cultural Exchange float. Club members dressed in the traditional costume of countries from all over the world and rode in a truck draped with various national flags. SADD entered a hearse which read, Dorff Drink And Drive, Or This ls How You'l1 Arrive painted on the side. And members of the CCHS Parent Senate I or ,W drove a Model Tend dressed in turn-of-the-century clothing. At the halftime of Friday nights game, the float winners were announced, Big Sisters and the sophomore class tied for I third place, each group winning 550. Second place, and 575 went to the French Club for its Heat, which featured students dressed in french costume who walked along-side a large decorated football. DECA took hrst place honors, along with I 5100, for a float with a mock football stadium built into the back of a decorated truck. ln spite of a small turnout at the parade, those who took part in it were not too disappointed.
