Homecoming 1987 1987 Homecoming Queen Stephanie Polk, with King Tom lseman Attendant Scott Sjo- berg, escort, Mrs. Sjo- berg 1986 Queen Kim Goodson, escort Henry Cotton This year's Homecoming theme, Catch a Wave, was a motif for the festive weekend. Thousands of balloons filled the air announcing the beginning of the Homecoming Game against Heritage. The stadium roared with fans clapping, cheering, and vigorously waving their red pom poms. Back and forth a wave flowed through the stands, a current of electricity seemed to link the crowd and the cheerleaders together as they urged the Bruins on to a glori- ' ous 39-O win. The excitement didn't die out as the football players ran off the field at half-timeg if anything, it increased. The field was ablaze with the color and sparkle of the Cherry Creek Band and the Flags, as well as, the perfectly coordinated motions of the Pom Pons. A hush fell over the crowd asthe Homecoming King and Queen candidates were escorted onto the field and introduced. Everyone waited in anticipation, because all of the candidates were escorted onto the field and introduced. Everyone waited in anticipation, because all of the candi- dates were worthy of the honor. Stacie Summerhill, Tracy Buchannan, Kerry Petrovich, Amy Pozelnik and Stephanie Polk were as both elegant and beautiful. David Fulton, Ben Caplan, Scott Sjoberg, Alan Wittman and Tom lseman, were all handsome and smiling. Yet, as Stephanie Polk and Tom lseman were all chosen to have the honor of King and Queen, an echo of applause sounded through the Stutler Bowl. Stephanie's blue eyes shone, expressing both excitment, and modesty, as Mr. Cotton crowned her. Tom's ruddy good looks caught the camera's flashes as Kim Goodson, last-year's Homecoming Queen, crowned him. Stephanie and Tom, a great-looking pair, greeted the crowds of clapping and cheer- ing spectators.
