Sometimes I still can't believe that I'm actually back in school again. Could it be that only two weeks ago I was free from the pressures of school, had only to ' I' f pass the remaining carefree days of summer? But all of that is behind me now. .N M .ix X Summer is over and gone, and autumn is here to take its place. By now, the initial shock of going back to school has worn off, and l'm ready to get back to life as a student. At first, I was overwhelmed by incredible amounts of homework, brutal classes, and relentless teachers, but with each passing day, things get a little bit easier. Nevertheless, l have many challenges to meet. This is my toughest year at Creek, especially with a class like A.P. European History. ls it really that hard? You bet. I spend more time doing homework for that one class than I do for all of my other classes combined! And then there's English. I have yet to emerge from my shell of silence and participate in class discussions, for fear that l'Il say something utterly and completely ridiculous. As if it weren't hard enough to juggle my classes and all of my homework, l still have to find time for extracurricular activities. With the newspaper, the yearbook, Medical Careers, French club, and piano lessons, l'm lucky if I have any spare time left - I'd still like to have a social life! There's also the problem of squeezing through the jam-packed halls during passing period. Either the number of people at Creek each year is growing, or the halls are shrinking. And is it my imaginaton, or do the freshmen get younger every year? However, life at school can't be all that bad. I'm making a lot of new friends, l made Jazz Band, and despite the pressures of school, l'm having a great time! So now l'm ready to face autumn. The days are already getting cooler, and the leaves are just beginning to change colors. Before you know it, the leaves will start to fall, autumn will pass, and the only thing falling will be snow. 8 E 2 ' .wilt ,V . Mikilii A M f J
