As we carry on with our theme of rockets and rocketry, we find that we must begin with this section on the ad- ministration. Now, our only problem here is correlate the administration with the little creature pictured below. As one can easily see, this creature is standing ready to press the button which will fire the rocket. Because a fine administration is the starting point of our annual and also the starting point of a fine school, the action pictured below is the beginning of our proposed flight. ddmycnf 5170 ILION CQ: 1 S o . l5 e. Princzpal My three years at the Cherry Creek High School have been characterized by the most pleasant relationships with the finest student body in our land, in my estimation. I have greatly appreciated your friendly and cooperative spirit, your willingness to work in the best interests of an improved educational program for CCHS, the pride you exhibit in your accomplishments, and the high standardsof conduct you have established for yourselves. All students should recognize the demands made upon the individual today by our highly complex and competitive society. The launching of the Sputniks, sym- bolic of the technological advancements being achieved by a nation dedicated to oppose our way of life, served notice that the youth of our nation must prepare themselves better than ever before. This is the challenge you face. You must realize that America is asking more of her youth today than at any other time in history. To prepare yourselves for the future will require hours and hours of dedi- cated study, a desire to excelrather than succumbto the philosophy of mediocrity, and a realization that the ultimate destiny of this great nation of ours rests with the dignity and worth of the individual. The character of the individual determines the character of the nation. I have great confidence that our CCHS students are prepared to meet these challenges. Do you share with me this confidence? L, H . SHILLINGLAW Principal
